Dr. Stephen Lowe, MD

Our favorite thing about UT health care system is they don’t walk in with their faces in their electronics. Every nurse and doctor spoke with us directly. The nurses and doctors took notes paying close attention to the patient. In the past five years he has been treated at three other renown institutions. These institutions are large and process thousands of people daily. He was just another patient number. At UT he has been treated with kindness and compassion by everyone we have encountered at University of Tennessee Medical Center. Every single individual, from the valet to the registration assistant, assistants, nurses, radiologists, and surgeons that we personally been involved is superior to all other institutions we have frequented in the last 5 years. He is a very friendly gentleman was straightforward Easy to talk to.

I waited months to get into this appointment. In hopes for some relief. I drove 2 hours and then get informed that the actual doctor was not even there. I had to see a PA. And he literally had no answers or even medical advise of next steps. Pretty much just had a that sucks and I can’t help you attitude. I left in tears. Was told the PA would have the doctor look at my scan to “double check” never heard from them. And the MRI they were looking at was months old.

PA was not prepared for my visit. Had not seen the latested MRI results ordered by Dr Clarke, who worked in conjunction with Dr Lowe in my gama knife procedure. First thing he said to me was the tumor had not srunk, when the MRI clearly showed it had.A complete waste of my time and $25.

I can not say enough about Dr. Lowe and all the neurological staff at UT. I was given excellent care and thank God surgery went very well. I would highly recommend Dr Lowe and his staff to anyone that has neurological problems.

Dr. Lowe cancelled my first appointment with him last spring an hour before it was scheduled. No explanation, no reschedule. When I was finally able to get another appointment, he left me waiting in the exam room for an hour-I WAS THE ONLY PATIENT THERE-and never bothered to come in the room. He and his nurse were laughing in his office as I walked by to leave. Again, no explanation, no resolution. He has zero respect for his patients.

I am very pleased with Dr. Lowe and his treatment of my meningioma. I ended up needing radiation and Dr. Lowe was able to coordinate it and be there to give me the medical care I needed. While the Lord is the ultimate Healer, He used Dr. Lowe in stopping the growth of my meningioma and I am very grateful.

Friendly staff, very professional.

He was in the room for maximum of 10 minutes and was very rude to my 3 year old daughter and wife. My daughter was just sitting on the bed and Dr. Lowe said she was distracting him and made my wife get her off the table and away from myself which upset her. My daughter just wanted to be near me, her father. It wasn’t what he said that was very rude but how he said it. He really needs to work on his bedside manners.

This was my first visit. I was very impressed with his knowledge and willingness to listen to my concerns. He explained my options and wasn't pushy with what he felt I should do.

He was clearly very knowledgeable and had in-depth knowledge about my condition. Also very cordial and conversational and answered all of my questions to the best of his ability.

Excellent bedside manners, explained all details and options.
