MRI showed a tumor on my pituitary gland. Dr Johnson set up the surgery with Dr J McCormick (ent needed with the surgery and I also recommend him). Surgery was what I expected from what Dr Johnson told me. Dr z Johnson saved my vision and I will be forever grateful

Efficient and personable
My initial visit was efficient, Dr. Johnson explained his role as a Neurosurgeon, the risks and the procedure, asked if I had any questions, and answered them all. Very personable, and friendly. On the day of the procedure, he made sure I knew what was happening, all went well. The post-op support was phenomenal, plus you could contact him or his support staff at any time and they responded quickly.

Skilled, Caring, and Compassionate Surgeon
There are not enough positive adjectives to describe Dr Johnson's skill, caring and compassionate nature. I felt comfortable from our first telehealth visit that he was the right Doctor to perform my surgery and I was correct. I wish I could give him more than 5 stars.

Excellent Neurosurgeaon
Dr. Johnson explained my medical condition in very clear terms and what may happen if it is not operated upon. He explained in easy terminology about the procedure he will be performing during the cervical spine surgery and also the risk associated with it.On the day of surgery everything was done in a timely fashion and after surgery Dr. Johnson told my wife that everything went smoothly and recovery will be faster.

Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion Two levels
After years dealing with my condition I'd reached a point where I'd discontinued almost all physical activities attempting to minimize the constant pain and numbness. With limited success. Pain management had prepared me to hear I might have all cervical vertebrae fused. Dr Johnson's evaluation recommended fusing c-3, c-4, and c-5, with some peripheral clean-up work. A relief though I still faced surgery with a great deal of trepidation. The doctor and his staff went to lengths informing me as to what I could expect from the procedure, potential dangers, length of recovery, etc. The day of surgery, still anxious but committed. After, on my way to the recovery room, I searched through my body, feeling the changes. I knew all was well. Relief! The recovery process was lengthy, and painful, but feeling the benefit I'd gained was incentive to do the work. Now, ten months later, I am mostly pain free, numbness has receded, and I am again able to push my limits. Thank you Dr Johnson

Excellent Neurosurgeon
I was recommended to Dr. Johnson from a doctor friend of mine and we met in March of 2021. I was diagnosed with a Vestubular Schwannoma in the left side of my skull in the canal behing my ear. Naturally, I was petrified with the diagnosis but Dr Johnson assured me he woud be able to help me and I would be ok. From the 1st time I met him, I knew I was in the right place. He displayed impressive knowledge and confidence which brought by stress level down immediately. He has a very kind and caring way aout him and I put my full trust in him to help me. I love his assistant Christina as well, she was so kind and patient with me during this extremely stressful time in my life. Dr Johnson performed Gamma Knife Surgery for me in New Brunswick in August of 2021 and everything went perfectly and according to plan. I see him every 6 months for follow ups but I feel great, no issues and I am so gled I had him in my corner! Thank you Dr Johnson!

Excellent and Compassionate Neurosurgeon!
Upon referral to Dr. Stephen A Johnson for neurosurgery of my cervical spine, I immediately felt confident that he understood my functional problems and pain. He thoroughly reviewed my imaging with me in detail before & after surgery to assure I understood my condition and set my expectations for after surgery, he also calmed my anxiety about proceeding. His compassion is something that sets him apart from many other surgeons, and his follow up and care after surgery has been outstanding. I am so pleased with my results of this very talented Neurosurgeon and highly recommend him!

Great Surgery
Ongoing weakness in hands. Was able to get an appointment quite quickly. Found Dr. Johnson to be forthcoming and honest as to what and what not to expect from surgery. His staff set up all pre-testing and necessary paperwork. Surgery went smoothly and post-op is much better than I originally thought it might be. Would recommend Dr. Johnson and his entire staff in a second.
