Do Not See Dr. Child
My father saw Dr. Child after my mom passed in Nov 23. He was in a bad place so Dr. C prescribed an SSRI and put him back on blood pressure medicine which he wasn't taking previously. I thought this was great. He then saw Dr. C over and over again my father felt horrible with his blood pressure sky high! Over the course of these visits Dr. C has put him on another the max dosage of the blood pressure meds along with an addit'l blood pressure med, two more phyc meds, and medication for bipolar disorder. My father doesn't want to be on the phyc meds & has no history of depression. He has called there several times, telling them that he can't take feeling this way anymore. He can't do anything because of how he feels. I had to force Dr. C for referral to a specialist. I Googled my fathers med's and found 2 drug interactions and one that has phosphate which he's allergic to. I emailed the office to advise of this and not one person has contacted us. Dr C has no idea how to help.

Dr. Child is quite thorough, patient and caring. Spends the necessary time with patients. His office staff has been difficult, unempathetic, especially when dealing with patients who don't feel well, and it is difficult to schedule an appointment, or to get a medication refill in a timely manner. If you don't mind dealing with disrespectful office staff....Dr. Child is the one for you!

Knowledgeable and Caring
My wife and I have been patients of Dr. Child for many years. He is extremely knowledgeable as a general practitioner. Additionally, he has an excellent bedside manner and is genuinely interested in in our health and well-being. He takes whatever time is needed during office visits and will answer completely any questions we may have on any medical topic. I have also been able to get him on the phone for quick questions when needed. In a time of medical difficulty, he even provided in own personal cell phone number so we could call him anytime if needed. Would highly recommend him.

I don't trust him or his office
I have been told I "Might" have PCOS even though I was previously diagnosed and have surgery history to prove this, and now have to go for a second round of blood work due to the office not ordering the one test we were doing the bloodwork for in the first place. Was very quick to prescribe me medication instead of listening to his patient and referring me out to a specialist, and now my main concerns that I had initially gone into his office about are getting worse and causing more stress on my loved ones and I. If you just want pills- go to him. Otherwise, look somewhere else.

This doctor denied my relatives physical therapy and just told us to take pain meds. It was like pulling teeth to have him refer us to Physical therapy with no real reason.

I have been a patient of Dr. Child for over 20 years and have no complaints. He listens to my questions and has even called me in the evening to follow up on how I was responding to medication. I wouldn't consider going to anyone else. Another plus is that his wife takes care of my yearly GYN physical. All my records are in one office.

Terrible experience!! Was looking to find a new doctor, as ours is cutting hours significantly. Made an appointment and waited a month to get in. When I arrived a the office, I was told that the doctor does not do meet and greets and asked had I changed my primary care for insurance purposes over to him. I said that I had not, until I was sure that I wanted to have him as my physician. I was told I could not meet with him, as they would not get paid, so denied access to even talk to him.
