Umbilical Hernia Repair
Dr. Barnes performed umbilical hernia repair surgery on me. From the first moment my wife and I met with him I knew that he was the right choice for me. His comical bedside manner helped put me ease while he explained what had occurred and what he proposed to do to fix my hernia. He thoughtfully answered all questions and methodically presented an overview of the entire pre-and postop process. I am very thankful for his surgical prowess and highly recommend him! Thank you, Dr. Barnes.

Hernia Repair
Excellent! Dr. Barnes performed a inguinal hernia repair for me. He did not do the initial repair. I was one of the lucky few who had a reoccurrence. He was very informative about the procedure and what I could expect post surgery. This really helped me through the healing process. Also great bedside manner. I would highly recommend his exceptional skill set to anyone.

Hernia surgery
He did amazing with my husbands hernia the first time! But my husband developed a hiatal hernia and he supposedly referred him to a GI doctor! 6 weeks later and still no referral contact despite my husband calling and going to his office multiple times! They haven’t turned in FMLA paperwork and now my husband is being threatened by his job to be fired!!! It’s crazy how you trust that someone is going to take care of what they say they will then causing a horrible mess because they don’t! He has failed my husband! Even if it is his office staffs fault, he is still at fault!!! No follow through could be detiermental to my husbands job and most importantly HIS HEALTH!!!

Dr. Barnes was my surgeon for a gallbladder removal when I was 14 weeks pregnant, and he took absolute care of me and kept my baby's safety as highest priority. The surgery went great and I'm so thankful for his professionalism and support during such a difficult time.

I first met Dr. Barnes in 2006 in the ED for an infected appendix that other doctors ignored. Since then he has performed multiple surgeries on me, always made sure that I was comfortable & always found time to fit me in. I couldn’t ask for a better surgeon to perform general surgeries with. He is beyond phenomenal at what he does including his bedside manner.

I wish I had been referred to Dr. Barnes years ago. It would have saved me from three additional surgeries and too many aspiration of a seroma from the last surgery performed. After getting no where and much to the advice of my husband I looked for another surgeon for a second opinion. That's when I found Dr. Barnes and much to my dismay Dr. Barnes told me that I had an Epigastric hernia and surgery was needed. This would now be my 4th hernia operation in 2-1/2 years. However, this surgery went without a snap, recovery was easier than anyone of the previous surgeries. I have referred my brother to Dr. Barnes for a triple groin hernia and his surgery went well. Dr. Barnes is a God sent and I would recommend him and his staff to anyone. MaryAnne of Strasburg, Colorado

I walked in with several hernias and loads of scar tissue from previous surgeries (failed attempts to fix the hernias). 2 weeks later, and I feel like a new man. I can squat for the first time in 5 years without pain. Having had several surgeries in the past (hernias, colon, knee, and mouth), I can say this was by far the best surgery I have ever had. Dr. Barnes is truly an expert in his profession.

I made an appointment with Dr. Barnes to get a second opinion based on a recommendation by my general physician. I am so thankful I was pointed in his direction. Had I simply followed the recommendation by the first general surgeon & not seen Dr. Barnes, my medical condition would be further complicated. I was only seen by him once, but he passed my case along to the right doctor to treat my condition, no general surgery necessary. I am forever grateful for him & his high ethical standards.

Highly recommend Dr Barnes. He has performed abdomen hernia and leg Lipoma surgery on me. He is extremely knowledgeable and professional. I have the smallest insignificant scars. I was pleasantly surprised at the quick recovery time. My husband recently had a lipoma removed from his lower back by Dr Barnes and also had a quick, minimal discomfort, quick recovery. I believe it’s due to Dr Barnes exceptional skill. Dr Barnes is a 5+ star surgeon.

I got a diagnosis on Thursday evening that I needed my gallbladder out and was referred to Dr Barnes by my gastroenterologist. I called Friday morning to schedule an appointment and they squeezed me in that morning. Dr Barnes saw me and I was scheduled for surgery that next Monday. Had to make 2 on-call calls to him after hours and he was very understanding and professional. Great surgeon that cares and wants you to feel better as soon as possible!!

I have honestly never met a more caring and professional doctor. Dr. Barnes and his staff were easy to work with and very accommodating. They helped me schedule multiple tests and appointments quickly and efficiently. Even with Dr. Barnes' demanding schedule, I was able to see him when needed for pre-op and post-op visits. I am very happy with my experience and I highly recommend Dr. Barnes!

Give this physician the best rating possible! I was a patient of Dr. Barnes when he practiced in Rockford, Ill. and I was terribly disappointed when he left the state to practice in Colorado. He is a top-rated surgeon and I've never met a doctor who showed more compassion for the anxiety of patients facing surgery than this man. He is truly a gift to the profession.
