Knows her stuff!
My experience is that Dr. Vanterpool really understands and tries to take time with her patients. She gets all of the information she needs and gets to the root of the problem. Her staff and assistants are excellent as well. My care has required a couple of surgeries, and she explained everything that was to be done and why it was medically necessary. I would definitely recommend her.

Extremely Poor Service, Leaves Patients in Pain
Very poor listener, has excuses rather than results. Hard to see. Doesn't have a backup plan, so if her approach doesn't work, you must wait 3 or more weeks to see her assistants. She micromanages the entire office, which results in poor quality and delays. When these sorts of things are mentioned to her, she has excuses then says that you're welcome to go elsewhere. Dr. Vanterpool comes across with a know it all and I'm better than you attitude. While she may be knowledgeable, she is very poor at applying such knowledge as the Department Manager. Dr. Vanterpool is frequently out of the office. Very little can be approved or changed until she returns. Everything has to go through her. Micromanagement at it's worse. For a follow-up appointment she routinely has you see her staff. The staff must then stop and go get her approval for everything. It took her staff 6 weeks to input a physical therapy referral, and then to the wrong place. I wouldn't recommend her for my dog in pain.

Dr. Vanterpool treated me at Pain Management. I am so disappointed because she has left to pursue other areas of medicine. She was so kind and really made every visit less stressful for me. She gave me injections for my back pain and made me feel at ease with every visit. I am not at all satisfied with the Doctor that took her place. I wish her well and she will be missed.
