Dr. Stephanie Van Heerden, DPM

In 1979, my first podiatrist designed orthotics for me that ruined my feet. As a result, I have been treated regularly by a podiatrist. For the last year, Dr Stephanie van Heerden has been treating me and she is clearly a notch better than all my previous podiatrists. My feet are feeling a cumulative effect of her care and keep getting better and better. I may not be able to walk 6 miles a day as I did 40 years ago but I'm getting closer to a mile. Thank you Dr van Heerden, a very gifted practitioner. I recommend her highly and without reservation.

I met Dr van Heerden when I had fractured my ankle. She is sooo professional. She looked at every detail and found that I had a previous fracture. She gave me several recommendations to improve my condition including orthotics and different types of shoes. Her recommendations were very clear and very helpful especially when I had to travel overseas. Dr van Heerden is very friendly. I recommend her highly!

Kind, personable without any affectation. Really empathic and warm, and considering how much I hate feet...this is impresssive. She also looked for the simplest path for treatment. I had another doctor tell me immediately she wanted to do surgery on my foot. Whoa, nelly knife, let's try something else before you make me bleed. Dr. Van Heerdan gets my two feet thumbs up!

I went in for a bunion, and she treated everything except the bunion. She kept bringing me in for additional appointments to do nothing, or to treat something she had never discussed with me. It was difficult to get her to focus on the task at hand. Her explanations included complex medical terms that lay persons do not understand, and she was all over the place going from subject to subject never focusing on one. After paying too much for repeated visits, I found a podiatrist who could focus on my bunion.

Dr. Van Heerdan was the first doctor the made me feel confident in her abilities and diagnosis. She immediately put me as ease as she walked me through the diagnosis and the recommended surgery. After the surgery she followed up as if I was part of her family. The follow up was not only through but above and beyond any other doctor I have had in my life. She had reconstructed my ankle that required pins and a lot of work. I have no residual pain or issues. I am great full that I found her.
