Dr. Stein and her office folks are great!
Dr. Stein is an excellent physician who I found is very meticulous and thorough in her practice. I find her frankness reassuring, and appreciate her follow-up on test results and explaining their significance in a manner that is understandable. I have been a patient for more than four years and believe that she has been a great resource for helping me maintain a pretty good quality of life. I also appreciate her willingness to make referrals to other medical providers when she believes they can address my medical needs. She has a really friendly staff, and I particularly appreciate the in office lab technician, so I don’t need to make additional appointments for lab work.

Dr. Stein improved the quality of my life!
I have become someone I would never have been without meeting Dr. Stein when my primary care physician said my blood sugar was off the chart and had full blown diabetes. By immediately addressing my health concerns and providing ongoing support, Dr. Stein helped me regain my energy, improve my physical function, and enjoy a better quality of life. Since 2019, I have lost over 60lbs under her care and no longer take insulin or other diabetic drugs. I feel significantly younger then my physical age. Dr. Stein took the time ( and still does) to understand my individual needs and concerns, tailoring the treatment plan to my specific circumstances, which led to the best outcome anyone could expect to achieve.

THE VERY BEST
I have never written an online review; however, someone as exceptional as Dr. Stein deserves to be acknowledged. I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes by my primary care physician and told to find an endocrinologist as soon as possible as I required urgent care. Not only was Dr. Stein willing to see me the following day, she came in before office hours to meet with me. Being diagnosed with a chronic disease that would completely alter my life at 43 years old is certainly scary! As I sat in tears in front of Dr. Stein I’ve never felt more seen, heard, cared for, empowered and supported. Her bedside manner is top notch and her empathy and loving nature shine through and put patients at ease. She has held my hand thru many difficult days and continues to do so! She is as brilliant as she is kind and compassionate. I think the world of Dr. Stein and feel incredibly lucky to call her my doctor! This is a doctor with such passion and drive to help her patients! A true diamond in the rough!

Useless doctor. All she does is prescribing traditional meds like any physicians can. She also does not reply to emails of her patient in crisis. Don’t waste your time with her.

I met with Dr. Stein for the first time today. I found her to be very informative, a great listener and a Docter with a plan, The staff is very professional and the office atmosphere was very inviting. Dr, Stein has a great bed side manner and explained in detail how my situation would be handled. I was very impressed and excited that Dr, Stein was willing to take me on as a patient.

We all dream of finding a doctor with the highest degree of professional competence and the greatest capacity for human empathy. Dr. Stein is such a doctor--indeed, I have never encountered any physician who surpasses her by either measure. In a lifetime of all too many medical problems, I have encountered many good physicians but she is the one I would readily identify as the best. Diabetes is complex and scary. She has helped me navigate the challenges presented by the disease and coached me out of fear and into a place of confidence, even empowerment, as I proceed. I recommend her services with unreserved enthusiasm. She is, in every way, an excellent doctor. I saw her most recently at her beautiful new DC Endocrine offices at 5530 Wisconsin Ave., NW.

Dr Stein is one of the finest and best doctors I know. Extremely professional and knowledgable in her field, she is compassionate, attentive and available. Two of my doctors referred me to Dr Stein when I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and graves disease. She showed great compassion towards my initial symptoms, worries and complaints, and that compassion was always present throughout. In the year that I have been her patient, Dr Stein has taken great care of me, and in just a couple of months helped me stabilize my condition. I never felt like “just another patient”, never felt rushed or dismissed nor that my concerns and symptoms were not real and important. On the contrary: at every appointment Dr Stein showed a real interested in me, in analyzing how I felt and always made sure I understood everything and that I felt reassured and comfortable. I couldn’t recommend her more highly!

i recently came under the care of Dr. Stein after being referred to her by longtime primary care doctor. I had recently been diagnosed with a thyroid tumor and was extremely upset. I came into the visit with Dr. Stein so anxious about what she would say and what this diagnosis meant. To say that she is the most compassionate and caring doctor I have seen would be an understatement. Over the last several months she has handheld and walked me through this issue and I am pleased to say that after undergoing treatment I am doing great. I was shocked to have read the last post on this website because it is absolutely not representative of my experience. Dr. Stein is a thoughtful, brilliant and compassionate physician and I feel so lucky to have come under her care.

I had a reaction to a medicine she prescribed ($1,000+ retail). She told me to stop taking it (I paid $40 for it) after only one use. It was from a family of medicines that I react unfavorably to. I never heard from her after this. I sent her an email. Her only relationship was with my insurance company. How can she manage diabetes when she doesn't connect thoroughly with the patient. She sits there looking at her computer and then prescribes medications. No real thought as to your particular situation...just prescribing. I would never recommend her as diabetes is a serious disease and she's not paying attention. I even wondered why she did not approach from a diet perspective.

Dr. Stein is absolutely amazing. I have been under her care for over 3 years. After struggling with being misdiagnosed by another endocrinologist for years I had the fortune of meeting Dr. Stein. She listened carefully to my complicated history and comforted me when I became upset. She researched my condition and even reached out to other colleagues. Within 3 visits she arrived at the correct diagnosis and began treatment. I feel like she literally gave me my life back. She is by far the best and most caring physician I have ever seen. I cannot disagree more with the review posted here. Dr. Stein is the best!

Dr. Stein has been horrible to work with. She has wrongfully recorded my symptoms multiple times and then has said that "everything is fine" and "maybe you just need to see a weight loss specialist" due to the symptoms of my hypothyroidism. I have never had a doctor tell me they don't believe me- until Dr. Stein. I had to use my apple watch to show her my activity levels because she wouldn't take my word for it. Save yourself a lot of time and money and go somewhere the doctor cares about assisting you.

Dr Stein is by far the most impressive doctor-- and specialist- I have ever seen. Dr. Stein singlehandidly identified, managed and treated a disorder that others have failed to notice, and that was severely impinging on my quality of life. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Stein- :she is by far the best and most capable doctor I have met. I would highly recommend her to my friends and family, and will continue to rely on her practice to manage my care.

Dr. Stein is one of the best doctors I've ever been seen. My appointment started in her office during which time she explained to me exactly what was going on and patiently answering all my questions. We didn't leave her office until she was 100% sure that all my questions had been answered. In the exam room I never felt rushed and I left feeling like I had a complete understanding of what was going on. She is quickly available via email and still makes sure all my questions are answered.

Dr. Stein is the most considerate, professional, and spot on doctor that I have ever had care for me. I had been struggling for over two years with symptoms that baffled my primary doctor and two other endocrinologists. Dr. Stein was able to diagnose and treat my rare condition and I can happily say that I finally have my life back. A+ Doc and one of the nicest people you will meet!!! Have no clue what the previous poster is taking about and could not disagree more....

Dr. Stein is excellent. She will take the time to fully explain your test results and what they mean and what steps you can take to maintain your health. We get so used to Doctors rushing us through so that they can handle their patient loads that it's a welcome change to find a Doctor who takes time to make sure you are fully informed and understand how you are doing. It may take a while to get an appointment, but, once you have one, you won't be rushed through on an assembly line.

Dr. Stein is excellent! As always, she listened to all of my concerns with warmth and genuine sincerity. I never felt rushed, as is the case in many doctor's offices. She explained everything she did, all of her recommendations, and answered all of my questions in a very professional tone, and to my complete satisfaction. The entire office staff is very friendly, welcoming, and efficient. I'd recommend Dr. Stein to anyone of my friends and family in need of a great Endocrinologist!
