Not a great experience
Dr. Letourneau did not listen to me as a new patient, but seemed rather to be stereotyping on autopilot. I realize these visits are rushed for insurance reasons, but not great. I can also say as someone with a professional research background that she has not kept herself current on the research on key health issues.
What went well
  • Appointment scheduling
  • Staff friendliness
What could be improved
  • I didn't feel respected
  • Didn't listen or answer questions
  • Appointment was rushed
  • Didn't trust the provider's decisions

Dr. Letourneau has been my primary care physician for over 4 years. I chose her because she was the doctor on-call when I had an emergency situation and went into Kaiser Capitol Hill to be seen. She had a calm demeanor and treated me like I was the only thing that mattered in that moment. She did not rush me at all. I have never been more impressed with a healthcare professional. Since then, every in-person visit with her has been consistently great and she responds quickly via the online portal if I every need anything, including letters of medical necessity, etc. I cannot cite a single instance where I was not impressed. I'm writing this review now because I am switching health insurance providers and will no longer be under Dr. Letourneau's care. I recommend her without hesitation and only hope that my next provider can live up to her standards.

Marvels in bad news and pessimism
Dr LeTourneau literally had me convinced I was dying. I was diagnosed with very mild diabetic retinopathy and she told me it was only a matter of time before I got neuropathy in my feet and general health decline. I called three different endochronologists in tears after that. I thought my life was over and decaying, and I’m only 27. I later learned that THOUSANDS of diabetics have mild retinopathy and as long as they keep their A1C good, they live without further complications. Would’ve been nice to know that before she caused me months and months of stress and sleepless nights. Terrible doctor who is mean spirited.

BAD DAY OR BAD DOCTOR??? I've been with Kaiser Permanente for 25 years and recently moved to DC. I have never had a bad experience until my first visit with Dr. Letourneau today (5/24/17). I went in with three concerns. For each concern her demeanor was dismissive and degrading. She advised me that as a doctor she is here to treat major symptoms and or refer me to other doctors if she can’t. So, if you have eczema, indigestion, or a suspicious mole don’t seek medical advice from Dr. Letouneau.
