Late, rude
She was 15 minutes late, didn't apologize or even mention it, kept interrupting me with a hostile attitude. Talked down to me in a tone that you only really hear used at obnoxious children. I felt horrible after this appointment. I wouldn't treat dogs how she treats people.

dishonest
I have seen her at Kaisers's gender pathway clinic several times over the last 4 years. She has lied to me on multiple occasions about what is in Kaisers's formulary, and their standards of care. If she ever says she cannot do something you should push her on it. Make her write it in your chart that she is incapable of doing X or Y despite your request.

A terrible experience for anyone seeking gender care This was the most horrible visit I've had with any medical professional in 39 years. I went in because I have struggled with gender issues my entire life - it's been a difficult thing to confront and I finally felt I was in a place where I could do it. I was incredibly anxious when I was there, but was prepared to explain where I was, how I felt w/regards to gender and expected to receive medical advice and guidance. Within 10 seconds of talking, she bluntly told me that she was "not here to help me figure out anything" and that she only prescribes drugs and approves surgeries. I was devastated by their lack of bedside manner and disregard for me and my physical and mental health. When I asked for a baseline for hormones, she told me they "don't do that" and accused me of seeking out help for a deficiency. She repeatedly refused to book an appt with the Gender Pathways counselor ("They're just booked too far out") and I was fighting suicidal ideations as I left the office. DO NOT VISIT

This DR is absolute trash, ruined my medical care and wrecked my transition. She should loose her license.

Dr. Detlesfen is a shinning ray of hope for trans people in the portland metro area. She helped me in both; a comprehensive medical capacity and a psychological way that made me feel very comfrotable. She explained the ways that she is legally able to help treat somone in our state and talked over what is best for me regardless of how many questions I asked and how much I pestered. She kindly repeated herself and did her best to help somone as manic as myself (a feat few have accomplished).

Absolutely ridiculous, what doctor SUGGESTS Estradiol Cypionate (Which is not bioidentical, causes more liver stress, and is slightly toxic) for someone 2 years into transition, stably on Estradiol Valerate and VERY pleased with the results of said medication. Then destroys hopes by flat out REFUSING an outside referral for orchi (an appointment I had for over a year on OHP before being dropped) saying they would only perform it there when I was told all I needed was the referral to see Dugi.

Ruined my transition. Prescribed the lowest possible dose of estrogen--one-third of the minimum recommend dose for transwomen--and warned me solemnly not to take any more than that. Month after month passed, and she kept upping the spiro, upping the spiro, until I was at 400/mg of spiro a day, an amount NOBODY takes, and still at the lowest possible dose of estrogen. For over half a year. She straight-up ruined the last opportunity I had to look passable before it was too late. I trusted her.
