This was my first visit with Dr. Baker and I was not disappointed. Dr. Baker took her time addressing all my concerns with compassion and care. I felt heard and especially comfortable in her care.

Dr. Stephanie Baker - Northside Gwinnett - PTC
She is negative. As well, she immediately prescribed a statin which would injure my kidneys without any alternatives and said a condemning word: 'You will HAVE TO have this for the REST OF YOUR LIFE.' then asked why I am her Dr. if I am not conferring with her first? I consulted two specialists who are chiefs of departments in their area of medicine, because she had not referred me; however she did want a quick copy to input into my medical record of an advanced directive about future plan of care. I CANCELLED MY SEPT APPT, straightway. I will not be returning to her AT ALL!

Do I have to be my own Dr. now?
I saw Dr. Baker a few times in 2020 for a sudden and disruptive symptom I was having. During the 1st appt she assumed that it was stress related and offered me Valium immediately. Red flag. I had a few tests and her PA once blithely told me "OK that's it!" over the phone after delivering inconclusive results and I had to tell her, no that's not it - I need to know what's causing the symptom impacting my quality of life! With the guidance of my Mom and MIL who are both nurses I had to advocate for myself and suggest the next step in testing. When I suggested my own CT scan Dr. Baker actually said something like "oh yea, good idea, that makes sense to do next." I was floored. I saw a cardiologist on her referral and they didn't understand why I was referred to their specialty based on my symptoms but in 10 minutes they were able to put a name to what I was experiencing (what my MIL thought it was) and said it was benign and should resolve in a few weeks. Never went back to Dr. Baker.

I'm very unhappy with my experience with Dr. Baker's office. Twice, I had an appointment scheduled with Dr. Baker. And twice, I received a call just prior to my appointment from staff saying that Dr. Baker was unavailable due to maternity leave. The second time, I was actually driving to my appointment when I received the cancellation call. How does the staff NOT know, in a timely manner, that Dr. Baker was unavailable. The office staff person, Keshia, did not display any empathy, called me "Hon" and said, "I'm just the messenger". I asked for a call back from an office manager and had to ask several times for that person's name. But as expected, I never received a call. Do you want to work with a Doctor whose staff is so dysfunctional and disrespectful? I've never met Dr. Baker and I'm sure she would have been a great doctor. I would be happy to amend or remove this review if someone from the office would actually reach out to me as promised.
