Frustrating and inconsiderate office
I have been seeing Dr. Stella since December and the doctor herself has been great. HOWEVER, her staff tends to be rude, and has wasted my husband's time several times already. I referred my husband to see Dr. Stella and they failed to book his appointment which we waited 3 months for, then after making another appointment in another 2 months, we were told they no longer took his insurance. I made an appointment to speak to the dr about this over the phone but then the doctor left on vacation and my appointment was cancelled. After weeks of trying to get a hold of the dr, which they were refusing to let me speak to her, but after I finally got through the doctor said she would make an exception for my husband to be seen and said she would write it down. He goes today and is rejected again, and they are not allowing him to speak to the doctor. No consideration for people's time and money and needing to take off work to be there.

So far, so good.
I'm sad that there are so many bad reviews. Dr Stella took charge of my case, analyzed my bloodwork, explained how thyroid works, why she feels the medication needs to be decreased, and was willing to consider other factors based on my age. It's the most thorough explanation I've gotten in ages. I realize it's not a modern office and perhaps it doesn't seem professional, but I'm patient and hopeful. All I care about is getting better from hormonal imbalance (hypo, Hoshimoto, anemia) and honestly the staff was super friendly to me. Fingers crossed.

One of the worst experiences ever
Ah, brace yourself for the medical misadventure of a lifetime! Picture this: the nurse practitioner's genius idea to draw your testosterone blood at 6 pm, because who needs accurate results anyway? And the cherry on top – a doctor who thinks the antidote to low testosterone is a casual chat and a happiness mantra. Forget about expertise; this place specializes in making you question life choices. It's not just a waste of time and money; it's a masterclass in healthcare disappointment. Unless you're a fan of frustration, steer clear at all costs.

A half a day wait, zero front desk support and not willing to share your blood work results on the portal, are all the reasons we are moving to a different endocrinologist

Very bad experience and office not friendly
Lowest rating i can give a dr. as to aspire to zero after a recommendation from my insurance company had the misshape to make my first appointment 2 weeks ago for today 6/29 22 at 10;00am I was hunted by calls and text messages at least 10times to make sure i was going to make the appointment like harassment and yesterday the send me a text with a $25.00 penalty fine if i do not show up. Well I arrive at 9:15 am to finish some paperwork. very unprofessional staff finish filling out the forms they wanted me to fill i was ready at 9:15am but my appointment was at 10:00 am So I waited till 10:00am but in vain. I asked the desk at 10:15 / also 10:30 at 10:45 at 11:00 at 11:15 at 11:30 at 11:45 and finally at Noon and every time i request the reason for delay was told short of help "why does the Doctor time is moe valuable then my time "Even that he get paid very well. So i finally decided to leave when my medical transportation came in Now is a new task to find another Dr

Wait time is absurdly long to then be seen by a nurse practitioner, not by the doctor. Dr. Stella is wonderful, but is difficult to get an appointment with her directly. She is at the Rego Park office only a couple days a week and the staff used to be physician assistants. The front desk reception is awful as always. Very rude staff who ignore you, unless you are of a particular background. In addition, the receptionist refused to help get refills of my medication that I must take for the entirety of the rest of my life, not an option at all to take this medication or not, without even consulting with the doctor. At my appointment, the nurse practitioner said I lied when I explained I was not given a refill because according to the receptionist I had not been seen for a couple months at the office. She then said they are supposed to tell the nurse practicitioner, physician assistant or doctor who is in and they would have submitted a refill to my pharmacy. She needs a better front desk

I was a patient of Dr. Illyayeva from 10/17 -01/18. I stopped going to this office because the wait is over 2 hrs and then you only see her Physician Assistant. Dr. Illyayeva only came in at the end of the visit and exhibited horrible bedside manner. When you're going through something, you don't want or need anyone to talk down to you.

Never seen doctor , got frustrated after 2 hours and left, asked my referring doctor to never send his patients there again, he agreed.

This doctor and staff appear to be unprofessional. Her mannerism does not calm the patient instead she speaks to them as if they are doing something wrong. Which in turn raises no and makes the patient unsettled. The staff needs more training in how to schedule appointments and collect copays. This staff tried to me pay for copay amounts they collected wrong from 2 years ago. Apparently their fee went up and now they want the difference. How unethical. It was their fault.

My mother comes for a regular check up every few months. One of the Tuesdays she had 10 o'clock app was seen at 12. There were 3 receptionist, 2 left to watch a film at the back room, NP (MD is not in Tuesdays ) went out for lunch and patients were left waiting. I consider this practice inappropriate.

OFFICE STAFF needs to be retrained. You cant even ask a question because they snap. Especially this one lady with glasses she was extremely unprofessional and the way she spoke to me was crazy. The Male doctor or PA w.e he was also unprofessional and took the front desk side when I explained my concern. DR. Stella herself was very helpful and nice. But due to her staff I will be switching to another doctor.WORST STAFF I've come across. Try calling the office my review will make sense.

To me, she is a great doctor, specially in diabetic medicine. I am a diabetic patient for last 20 years and I had to take insulin or last 10 years, 60+60 unit of Novomix daily for last 3 years. But I could not control my blood sugar with these high Insulin, then I visited her before 6 months and then she started to manage my blood sugar with an injection which I had to take once a week and then I could control my blood sugar . Now I am not taking any insulin but taking taking Tabs only.

I am a new patient of this office, the doctor seems nice but the amount she spent with you is usually short (like 5 - 10 mins). Their receptionist is notorious for their attitude. The first time I called and the receptionist said "we did not take appointment." So, I walked in and have waited for 3 hours. The second time I made an appointment at 10:15am but is now waiting at their office. It has been more than 1 hour.
