Awful!!!! Worse knee pain than before. It has affected my hip tendons in lower leg and ankle. I do not recommend him for anything. He’s all about the money!

Dr. Tarlow is an excellent surgeon. His reputation is impeccable. But the best surgeon in the world can’t help you when he CHOOSES to turn his back on you. And that’s exactly what Stefan Tarlow did to me. My surgery was cancelled (day of procedure) because my blood pressure was sky high. Shame on me! I should have kept better tabs on my own health. It is entirely my fault that I didn’t. But when I suggested to Dr Tarlow that this very costly delay could have been prevented with a simple 20 second BP check in his office prior to surgery, he bristled. How DARE I suggest he do something — ANYTHING — differently! He fired me as a patient and refused to do my surgery. Perhaps I should be grateful. Why would I want someone who behaves like a 5 year old with a bruised ego ripping my knee apart? I am just shocked that someone with the knowledge, expertise and reputation of Dr Tarlow would choose to behave so childishly. If you choose him as your surgeon, I wish you the best.

42 years ago I ruined my knee skiing. ACL was removed and 2 other ligaments tied and stapled to the bone. That's all they could do back then. Then I injured it again and gradually lost all my cartilage. 12 years ago, after lots of limping and pain and swelling for 30 years, Dr. Tarlow replaced my knee. He straightened my leg and made sure both legs were the same length. I was able to walk unassisted the very next day and even dance a week later. Physical therapy helped me learn to walk without limping, which had become habitual. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Tarlow's skills. Beyond great!

It’s been 4 months now since I had partial knee replacement. I waited 5 years before I decided to get the surgery. No regrets! Dr. Tarlow did a wonderful job. I had no problem walking while on vacation in Italy after 3 months post surgery. I can’t thank Dr. Tarlow enough.

I had a total knee replacement performed by Dr Tarlow in November 2017 and the results have been fantastic. To be pain free after all these years is a wonderful feeling. Dr Tarlow was recommended to me by the PA of my previous orthopedic surgeon since knee replacements was not his specialty. Do understand that Dr Tarlow is to the point and very matter of fact. He explained to me that total recovery can take up to a year which was the case. I was back to work however in 7 weeks.

I have had 6 knee surgeries over the years and Dr Tarlow has been the best, most proficient and approachable surgeon amongst all of these surgeries. He was direct with me when he needed to counsel me to change course. He was clear on the objectives and what needed to happen for full recovery. It has been two months since my knee reconstruction and it is the best and most smooth feeling my knee has been in 20 years. You will be lucky to have him AND his great staff take care of you.

Dr. Tarlow was nothing short of a miracle worker. After turning me away, referring me to physical therapy, years before he gained my trust as a surgeon who was not stereotypically knife happy. After a serious motorcycle accident, Dr. Tarlow saved my knee from amputation and that's not an exaggeration; I tore my ACL, PCL, LCL, MCL and medial Meniscus in addition to compressing my tibial head. Thanks to Dr. Tarlow's knowledge and skill I avoided replacement am back to running without ANY pain.
