He helped when no one else could!
He is kind, to the point, has his own x-ray, and knows his stuff. He operated on both my thumbs .

Dr. Klein is an amazing hand surgeon in Santa Cruz
I highly recommend Hand Surgeon, Dr. Stefan Klein. On 12/18/2020, Dr. Klein performed outpatient surgery to my badly deformed right hand. The thumb and second finger had extensive joint damage due to rheumatoid arthritis. My hand had been hurting for years. Dr. Klein stabilized the thumb with a metal pin and he repaired the second finger with an artificial joint. Surgery lasted one morning. Postoperative care was easy and kind. Dr. Klein was available by phone the next day and in case of emergency. He cared by calling me to ask how I was feeling after surgery. That was nice. My right hand has healed perfectly with therapy. The thumb is straight and functional without pain. The second finger flexes and extends well without pain. My grip strength has fully returned. Dr. Klein and I have had several follow-up appointments since surgery. He takes x-rays in his office and it's fast. The x-rays show a job well done. I am fully satisfied with the surgery of 12/18/2020.

Dr Klein is wonderful.....very patient & explains every detail of your treatment & injury. I broke my left wrist, he was referred to me by the ER & by a nurse who works with him at the surgery center. I am so lucky to have him for my Dr. I did have surgery with a plate installed. My recovery has been great, my scar is hardly noticeable, all thanks to Dr Klein. I would recommend him all day long. He is very caring & I trust him. He did not push me into surgery, he explained I could skip surgery & what the results would be. I made the right decision for myself & did the surgery & I so glad I did. He explains the ex-rays and all the post op issues clearly & thoroughly. His manner is very caring & patient. His receptionist , Kimberly is also very helpful & a pleasure to talk to .

I have been a patient of Doctor Klein for several years. Due to arthritis, vehicle accidents and many years of heavy construction my hands had become almost useless. Doctor Klein started a cortisone treatment plan on my hands. When my right hand became too painful the doctor performed surgery. The surgery allowed me to have both the use of my hand and far less pain. It was a miracle. Doctor Klein is the best. He is kind, he listens very well and he is very intelligent. I highly recommend him. Just look at his background and credentials and you will see he is a very educated man.

I am 5 months post surgery on my thumb. (trapezial excision hematoma distraction arthoplasty) I highly recommend Dr Klein for his expertise & great bedside manner. I feel like a new person being able to painlessly do things I haven't been able to do for years. You almost need a magnifying glass to see the scar.

I have had 2 surgeries successfully done by Dr Klien. 1 on my right wrist 8 years ago, 1 on my left hand for carpol tunnel just last year. Dr Kliens manner is extraordinary. Surgery is a last option. He really wants what is best for the patient and the staff is very professional and helpful as well.

I have been very pleased with my experience with Dr. Klein. He did a procedure on my hand earlier this month & everything is looking very good. Also his office manager Brianna is very helpful to help answer or forward any questions to the Dr. I would recommend him very highly.

I really love this doctor. I had such bad carpal tunnel I couldn't sleep at night because my hand would go to sleep. I had to give up many activities because of the pain. He tested me, and diagnosed promptly. He did my surgery. You can't even see the scar! He was very kind, calling on me to check how I was doing. I highly recomend him to anyone needing hand surgery!

This review is very, very late in coming. Dr. Klein not only gave me back the use of my thumb after my flexor tendon had been severed for two plus weeks, but gave me mental support as well. I highly recommend this skilled surgeon for any and all hand injuries. I have full use of my left thumb, thanks to him, and his skilled staff of assistants. My injury occurred in October of 06, and I was ready to work again in early 07. Thank you again for saving my most precious opposable digit.

If I could give this doctor no stars, I would. His professionalism with managing my pain was very poor. When telling him how I was still in pain after my surgery for removing a small mass, his answer was trying to explain how something like this shouldn't cause pain. Telling me his fact based on what his books and study's say, instead of listening to me, the patient, and how I am feeling. He would not give me anything to help manage my pain. I know what I'm feeling is pain. How dare he tell me

I have had two carpal tunnel surgeries with Dr.Klien and both times I have been very pleased with them. His office staff, Tim ,went out of his way to rush my second surgery due to my pain level and helped me get a sooner surgery date. He dealt with the insurance company professionally and made it happen. Dr. Klien is very calm and explains everything thoroughly. Which was very important to me. :)
