Excellent clinician. Kind, caring, and clinically skilled. I’ve had numerous psychiatrists and he is the best I’ve had.

He was very misogynistic. He was preoccupied w/medications prescribed by GP, Rheumatologist, spinal surgeon, and inpatient psychiatrist, same doctors for over 15 years"well, they are wrong, I'm right & they are wrong". He was insistent of his way only, never even got to why I had the appt. He ignored the requirements of an ugly, litigious divorce and trial date's, up coming, MRI's, lawyer required assessment & all the accompanying legal due dates. He focused on Pap smears, colon screening, etc,,,. We never once talked about why/how I got a referral. He also said the physician/psychiatrist from my inpatient stay was wrong and he was right. It felt demeaning, demanding & not once did we start talking about issues. He was very arrogant from the very beginning. Not good for osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia or rheumatological patients.

Dr shyn was a fill in from my normal dr and of no real help. Iam a father of 2 small girls, a husband and a business owner in the community. Iam also on the lung and heart transplant list and having some challenges as one might imagine. Not only didn’t he dismiss my feelings and opinions like I was a child but he after 3 messages back and forth on the kaiser app he blocked me from sending him anymore messages. He bedside manner and ability to listen to me was terrible. I would not recommend anyone to see so called “Dr.” Shyn.

Dr. Shyn's combination of current, thorough knowledge of medications and kindness are much appreciated. He was meticulous to avoid kidney damage, as he balanced my medications. He was always on time to start my sessions and encouraged me to get all my concerns and questions addressed. He felt like a real caring person, not just a high brow medical practitioner.

Dr. Shyn came to Group Health and immediately changed three items in a medication regimen Dr. David Kersey (now in San Diego) carefully created with me over 10+ years. Dr. Shyn admitted he disagreed with Dr. Kersey's regimen for me, ___which was working well___. Dr. Shyn's arrogant and rash approach dangerously destabilized a medical condition for which I collect federal disability. He also tried to prevent me from switching to a doctor I chose to replace him by lying about her availability.
