So fortunate to have her on my trusted team of DRs
I will just start by saying I have EXTREME anxiety dealing with anything medical . I can be difficult to manage because of it . I have been to dozens upon dozens of specialists, slowly forming my A team! Dr. Zavala is now one of them. The patience , compassion and knowledge is off the chart! My first visit she sat across from me and REALLY reviewed my labs , she did not skim , she DUG. She allowed me to ask as many questions as I needed and I never felt rushed . When I finally made it to my procedure I was a MESS ! I can’t tell you how kind and patient she was. We are at a surgery center where they may be performing a 100 procedures a day. SHE TOOK THE TIME! She was informative and assured me I was in good hands and I was. Also, her staff… top notch !! Equally patient and understanding when I was there or any phone call I made in. So grateful for her and her staff. Thank you so much!

Find Another Doctor
This is what I was told by Dr Zavala. Dr Zavala never listened to what I was telling her about my 50 year history of Crohn’s and numerous other complications from this awful disease. She had her own protocol and if I disagreed or made a suggestion she knocked it down. After suffering with C Diff caught in the hospital, I did what she said. Two courses of antibiotics (which despite what she said DID cause diarrhea) After all of that I was still unable to leave my house and I was suffering terribly. It was a holiday weekend and I know my body so I took Entocort and it made a tremendous difference. When I told her that at my appointment she was extremely angry and rude and told me to find another doc. I asked her if she could renew the script and she refused and told me I should have thought of that before i took the meds. She was totally unprofessional and walked out of the room without saying another word. She lacks compassion, and her bedside manner is horrible.

Dr. Zavala is compassionate and patient. I only wish she was still at Einstein. She always returned our calls and gave advice and alternatives especially when it wasn't convenient for us to physically make it to appointments. My mother absolutely loves her, and so do I.

I am so disgusted with this dr. Had a endoscopy October 3rd call for my biopsy results and another dr called and said dr Zavala had been on leave and would call me in a couple of days. To date I have not received a call from her or anyone else in the group. I have called 10 times to date and no one has had the courtesy to return my call. Did I have a positive biopsy? I guess I’ll have to go to another dr to find out??

She seemed pleasant enough. Unfortunately, it is impossible to contact anyone at her office re follow up questions. I guess since they don't get paid to return calls, this is not a priority..

I miss her. She was an excellent Doctor. She always was solution driven and has taken good care of me for years. I wish she was still on my case.

Dr Zavala is a very caring and intelligent physician. She was an answer to my Prayers. She listens to what you have to say and works with you to solve problems. Outstanding !! As a retired Nurse I can tell you she is what the Medical community needs to be.
