As an older adolescent my son began presenting serious mental health issues. It was very difficult to get him to go to a psychiatrist. I finally got him there and Dr. Spieker told him there was nothing wrong with him; his mother was his problem. Eventually he had a severe breakdown in Rochester, MN and was taken by police to Mayo. There he was diagnosed with schizophrenia. Now in his 30’s he still struggles greatly. I can’t imagine a psychiatrist not being able to see such a severe problem.

She saw my son briefly for anxiety. She completely ignored his therapist's imput and just advocated medication. When he showed obvious reactions to his medication she upped the dose. My son was eventually put in patient for mental issues where it was found his condition couldn't be treated with pills but needed therapy, like his therapist recommended. So after several ER visits because of med complications we stopped seeing Dr speaker and my son got better.
