Unnecessary biopsy
Went in to get a tumor removed. It had been diagnosed as a neoplastic of unknown malignancy, via a needle biopsy. He insisted a full on scalpel biopsy was needed. I asked repeatedly if it was. He reiterated it needed to be done, to continue. Well stupid me, believed him. After getting home and thinking about it, I realized no biopsy had been done on the tumor, that was removed from my back. So I called some friends that work in the medical field, and they basically said that it was weird to need yet another biopsy, after the needle one. They even said most of the time, a tumor would be removed and any tests needed done after it was out (limiting the risk to patient). Kicker,Not sure what happened, but looks like the specimen sent wasn't even part of the tumor, and came back as skin scar tissue.
