Dr. Sourav Poddar, MD

I tell everything to an MA. I tell everything again to a 'doctor' who I subsequently found out was inexperienced, a student, and there on a fellowship. Then Dr Poddar comes in for just a few minutes, seems disinterested, doesn't know 80% of the relevant history and information, does nothing, says almost nothing. It was a complicated case, over a period of 7 years I had seen 10 orthopedists and 5 PT's. He seemed like a pleasant guy, might even have come up with a useful dx, but letting an inexperienced person do the dx and rx - and not also doing his own - that's just negligent. Guessing at 'weak glute med' by someone who has no experience. When he doesn't delegate everything to others, it is possible that he is competent. That's why he gets 2 stars instead of 1. As far as I'm concerned I did NOT have an appointment with Dr Poddar. And the trainee learned nothing because she didn't get to see him perform his own assessment. Shame on him.

He is a likeable guy, however, I think he needs to be more thorough in his initial exam and be open to the possibility that things are not always what they appear in an xray alone. I was given no after injection care instructions, no recommendation to come back in a month or so if my pain persisted after continuing pain and an MRI with someone else…turns out I have a fracture as well as a severed meniscus

Misdiagnosed my knee. Left me in hell in more pain all over.

Something to consider when seeing Dr. Poddar is that if you have a high deductible health plan that the office visit (negotiated to ~$150) is just a small fraction of everything that gets charged. The XRays(2) ~$75 ea. Radiologist, Interpretation(~$100), Poddar's charge (~$250+) is absolutely ridiculous. They don't tell you ANYTHING about how much the charges are. When calling the office to talk to the doctor further you only get a call back to call them back even after leaving detail msg. :(:(
