Dr. Sophia Mehboob, MD

Its been several years since I felt I needed to engage with Henry Ford Health. I've had very mixed experiences in the past. I recently felt I needed to utilize their services...frankly, I'm astounded at how condescending, rude, and just plain bad physicians like Dr. Mehboob are. I understand their time is severely limited to consult with AND they must note such correspondence in the medical records. I get that, truly. However, her exaggerated facial expressions when you have questions and/or suggestions outside of her thin knowledge base and what may not be in the charts is alarming. She has no compassion, behaves like a know-it-all creep, will write in her notes that the patient lacks understanding, and is basically trying to appease her employer above all else. I have a business and would never dream about treating and interacting with clients the way she did. People want to be heard, listened to, and often have VITAL info to share. You're just a number and a body with her 'help'.

This doctor lied about me authorizing a DNR for my relative. Further, she will only follow the "standard of care". Even if your loved one is on their death bed and you request an easy, cheap but unapproved protocol, she will absolutely not approve it nor put her employment or license at risk. Henry Ford and the folks in white costs can cause more (dire) problems than one comes in with and are just fine fibbing in their notes about discussions that didn't happened. After this experience, my aim is to simply die at home or wherever in case of an emergency than to ever find myself in a Henry Ford ICU with people like this.

This Dr was assigned to care for my Grandfather. He died under her watch. This is in part because she bullied him into signing a DNR. He was 89 years old, not of sound mind, and could not hear well. She did not wait for family to arrive, nor did she disclose the DNR to family. She then proceeded to ignore checking up on him, or updating the family, despite persistent inquiries for her to update the family on his condition. She failed to prioritize my grandfather's care, and he is now dead. You may regret working with this Dr. She believes DNR stands for do not treat.

Dr. Sophia Mehboob is a ray of sunshine for me, and I believe for other patients. She is kind, intelligent, thorough, and an exceptional young woman! The diagnosis of copd frightened me. Her calm explanation and treatment plan have allowed me to live my life. I feel like an individual, and when I had surgery at the West Bloomfield hospital, she stopped in to see how I was doing! It warmed my heart that she took time out of her schedule! What a gal!
