I was referred to Dr. Rice for removal of a cervical polyp. She was nice, tried to put me at ease, and and made sure she answered my questions at every step. I appreciated that. But, she told me I needed it surgically removed and referred me to Mayo. I read the clinic notes and she wrote that my cervix was grossly abnormal and would require cold knife conization. The Mayo practitioner said that my cervix was not abnormal and that I just had a condition from being on birth control for so long. I was disappointed with Dr. Rice because as an obgyn herself, she should have recognized that. But I appreciated her bedside manner and that she was straightforward with me in that she did not feel comfortable doing it herself.
