Dr. Sona Aloyan is the most negligent healthcare professional I’ve ever interacted with. Not only did she seem to lack an understanding of basic healthcare, she told me my chronic illness was “cured” since I had taken antibiotics. I had a check-in appointment with her in which we discussed medication refills, and she said she’d send my refills in. When I went to the pharmacy, I saw she’d sent in the wrong script. I messaged her on the portal asking for the correct one, and I was told that I needed to make a psych appointment to get this medication refilled since it was an anti-depressant. This medication was NOT an anti-depressant and she had told me days prior she would refill it. I replied saying I would make a psych appointment but I was down to my last pill and needed one more refill to hold me over until then. I also explained how I’d have severe withdrawal effects from suddenly stopping this medication. I was told that if I was concerned I should “go to an ER.” I of course ran out of my medication and days later I had an emergency medical episode and had to go to the ER. Another doctor told me it was incredibly dangerous to stop that drug suddenly without tapering off and that doing so was the cause of my episode. I can’t believe she still has her license.
