Dr. Somashekar Pallegar, MD

Dr. Pellegar is a compassionate and very experienced doctor. He takes the time to make you feel like you’re really cared for and explains everything in detail.

I was seeing Dr. Pallagar for years. Since the pandemic they are very short staffed. His assistants were very rude if you called for something. I was waiting for a prescription. It was for weight loss, I went back and forth for months with no answers, continually calling for a response, my pharmacy even called them multiple times, no results. I was also seen for mental health medications. I went to urgent care and they even called them. Nothing....I then get a letter in the mail that he will no longer be able to treat me as a patient, no reason, gave me 30 days to find a Dr. well I did but I cant get in until Jan 30th, so now I am out of my mental health meds. I have no problem changing doctors, the pharmacy also called him several times because he was prescribing meds that interacted with each other. I will be following up with this with the medical board.

Both my husband and I I've been patients of Dr. Pallegar's for 12 years. He keeps himself abreast of the newest therapies like PRP and STEM cell and medicines. He offers care for patients of all ages, and clearly explains diagnoses. He has an interactive computer system, as well as literature and models where a patient research many condition He offers acupuncture, PRP and STEM cell therapy. He combines a holistic approach with a medical one, if that is your preference. His nurses and staff are always welcoming.

My problem is not with Dr. Pallegar, it's with his incompetent staff. I telephoned staff to have copy of blood work sent to me for upcoming doctors visit in Tampa. Was referred to Portal (no lab values on portal). Then stated copy of results would be mailed to me- never arrived.

Dr. Pallegar is THE BEST Dr. in the area, After a enormous amount of pain for over a year and several specialists that tried to help me with the pain for a ruptured disc, he suggested we try a PRP ( Platelet Replacement Therapy). Within 5 minutes the pain was gone. He monitored me for 6 months then we did an MRI to check the progress. It had healed itself to about 70% and has continued to improve. I NO Longer take any pain meds .
