Dr. Sirisha Thumu, MD

Dr. Thumu has treated my wife for more than 7 years. Honestly do not understand the comments listed on the page!She is a caring doctor, always pleasant to both me and my wife, who is in the late stages of dementia. Dr. Thumu has work to fine tune her medications, made recommendations, and suggestions, to help improve my wife's health.We never feel rushed, her follow through has been more than we could expect from any doctor. It's has always been a two-way communication, not one way. My wife has always look forward to seeing Dr. Thumu.Bob D for Jimmie D.

Poor communicator and rushed the telephone appointment. Made diagnosis without understanding current symptons. The medication that she prescribed was contraindicated with my current medications. The pharmacist filling the order caught the error and refused to fill her order.

Dr. Thumu takes DAYS to reply to and message and to just respond with ANOTHER question and that is if she answers at all. She is very dismissive and does not listen. I have been waiting to switch from her care and cannot wait to do so. If you are treated under her just go to the er you will get better and faster care.

Had several encounters with Dr. Thumu. Telehealth and In person. Telehealth was her worst - saw her in between cooking and driving - then pretended our connection was bad so, she kept on dropping me. Happened several times over years. Stayed with her thinking it could change when in person opened up after Covid. But, nah. Still not satisfied in person. She barely answer messages too. Or will never answer at all.

I had a colonoscopy for GI pain, etc and the procedure came back with no findings. I then scheduled an appointment with Dr. Thumu to discuss my recurring symptoms and she said that since the colonoscopy was clear “there is nothing wrong” regarding my pain. Mind you I’ve already restricted myself from gluten, dairy, and other commonly irritating food items and there’s been no improvement. Dr. Thumu also ordered labs to check my iron, ferritin, etc. My levels came back very low and when discussing treatment options and informing her of my previous GI upset from oral iron she said that is the only option she’s willing to provide me. In addition, “anemic” is listed on my health record and she denied that I’m anemic, if hardly iron deficient. The last thing I want to mention is that she did not know what a wheat allergy was when I inquired on testing for it. I’ve yet to experience a more dismissive doctor and to top it off she continued to tell me to just relax and not be anxious.

She didn't treat me as a part of my own care. She gave me a list of things to do. She didn't ask me any information about myself or my history or my concerns. She treated me as an underling.

With deep gratitude, I would like to thank Dr. Thumu. She was my father's primary care physician who went above and beyond for his care. For the last six years of his life, he had a myriad of health conditions alongside dementia. I was his sole care provider with a full-time job, child, etc...the stress of events was very challenging. I honestly would not have made it through without her help. Even toward the end when I was in tears she encouraged me to keep going. Not only is she an amazing Doctor but she is also a truly wonderful and compassionate human being.

She is the best doctor I have ever known, very smart and dedicated to her work

As a new enrollee to Kaiser, finding Dr Thumu was a gem! Having a family member with acute and chronic special needs, Dr Thumu has listened and responded quickly to all of her needs!
