Not ideal for medically complicated people
She’s nice, and if you’re a healthy person whose needs are limited to one annual appointment and automated refills, dr. Om is fantastic and connected to an amazing medical system. I just no longer think she should be a gatekeeper physician for anyone who needs more care than that. I have always felt comfortable with Dr. Om as my PCP, however the care she provides isn’t as plugged in or hands on as I need. “Next available appointment” is usually booked months ahead, and she cancels often.Her office is efficient and comfortable, but unhelpful. She’ll prescribe a medication, then when my insurance denies it she won’t follow up about alternatives. Staff handles all the patient communication, sticking to scripted lines to avoid saying anything that might be construed as medical advice.Again, I respect Dr. Om as a doctor, but keeping her as my pcp would be irresponsible. I need someone who follows up after referrals, scans, and canceled appointments to become my gatekeeper physician.
