Dr. Shruti Malik, MD

My husband and I saw Dr Malik for fertility issues last year. I had vaginismus and even diagnostic procedure experience with another doctor was painful. From the get go Dr Malik was empathetic and practiced sound medical advice and shared decision making with us. We had 3 IUIs with her and one IVF ( which was successful). We were blessed with a beautiful boy this fall - all thanks to Dr Malik!!

Dr. Malik is a true professional and a sweetheart! Never once had I felt rushed or talked over. She and her team took time to answer all my concerns whenever they arose. I am an African American 39 y/o women. My first treatment went well, and I became pregnant via IVF on the first try back in Sep 2020. We now have a happy baby boy going on two! I was so pleased that we went for a second IVF attempt for another baby, and it worked on the first try/cycle again! I am glad to report I am now 13 weeks pregnant. I have been released from SGF and hoping for a smooth pregnancy like last time! She is highly recommended. I highly recommend Dr. Malik! She is one of my favorite doctors that I have ever worked with. She is very personable and listened to all of my concerns. She was always willing to answer my questions and explain everything in depth. I really wanted to do a natural cycle for my embryo transfer, and she was very accomodating and supportive of that. I definitely recommend her!

We have been working with Dr. Malik since 2020. She has been so helpful through our long and stressful journey. After a couple of iui’s and 3 unsuccessful FET’s we finally got pregnant on our 4th FET after she personalized our protocol and really encouraged us to do more testing. We are still early on but this is the furthest we have gone and graduation day was so bitter sweet since I wish she could be our Dr. Throughout this whole journey! As an lgbt couple she never made us feel uncomfortable. Even though Shady Grove can sometimes feel like a factory for some. I’ve never personally felt that way through my experience with her and her nursing staff. She is a brilliant doctor, and most importantly, her bedside manner and compassion and care that she has for her patients is so needed in this journey!

After several unsuccessful attempts by myself I decided to try Shady Grove Fertility and was lucky to have Dr Shruti Malik who reassured us we had options. We are expecting our first baby in August and are so grateful for Dr. Shruti Malik and nurses who helped us get to this point! They were kind and caring through each step. The nurses were so reassuring and answered every question we had as we were going through treatments. Dr Shruti Malik was also especially excellent: caring, practical, never rushed, and with a sense of humor that put me us at ease. She even worked with us to find alternatives to some medications I wasn't comfortable taking for other health reasons. Everyone at Shady Grove Fertility is kind, but most importantly they are exceptionally skilled and knowledgeable. If you're struggling with fertility, do not wait like I did. We have been lucky to know Dr. Malik for about 5 years now. She has been so professional and supportive through our infertility journey. She cares and has listened to us as we have made decisions and navigated this difficult journey. We had a successful IVF cycle and 1 miracle baby who is 2 years old with another baby boy due soon!! Can’t thank Dr. Malik enough for going above and beyond for our growing family and as we believed for our miracle.

Dr. Malik and her team at SGF were wonderful. I know others have hit or miss experiences here with other practitioners but we are SO grateful to Dr. Malik. She listened patiently to our history, answered extensive questions, and kept the same nurse on your communication when possible, so I had consistent information from one person (Brittany) that I built a rapport with which was so helpful when I felt overwhelmed by dosages or shots or whatever. Dr. Malik was there for the actual embryo transfer and when she wasn't, the rest of the team was wonderful. Have highly recommended Dr. Malik!!!

Dr Malik is a very methodical, practical doctor. She approaches things with a level head vs. being emotional and lays out multiple paths that you can consider (including the risks and benefits of each). When our IVF egg retrieval went poorly (we retrieved eggs but discovered poor egg quality and did not get to the blastocyst stage), she came prepared with a new treatment plan for us to adjust with this new data. Ultimately IVF is a long process and each new test / result is a new data point to customize in the future. I felt like Dr. Malik was in it for the long haul with us. She also made sure to be our doctor on days where I needed certain procedures done since she knew my chart the best. Overall, I felt like she was very invested in our journey and I trusted her. Even though we got spontaneously pregnant, I would have felt comfortable going forward with another IVF cycle with Dr. Malik despite the first one not going well because I felt like she had a customized plan as a next step.

I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Shruti Malik and my nurse, Ashley. After several prior failed attempts to conceive, including through a prior round of IVF at a different clinic, I was able to conceive twins on my first frozen embryo transfer attempt with Dr. Malik. Both Dr. Malik and Ashley were highly attentive, regularly checking in with me and taking the time to address each of my concerns, and it was clear how much they cared. I also much appreciated Dr. Malik's deep expertise on fertility issues. I am very excited about the twins, and words cannot express my gratitude for Dr. Malik, Ashley, and the SGF team.

I have been working with Dr. Malik for over a year as a single mother by choice. She was always on time with appointments, very informative and always took the time to answer my volume of questions. She listened to my wishes and desires for treatment and never tried to push me into something I felt uncomfortable with. She made this extremely stressful process bearable. Thanks to her hard work I'm now 12 weeks pregnant!

Worked with Dr. Malik for my first IUI which was successful and led to us having a beautiful baby boy after years of trying to conceive. Dr. Malik and her nursing team especially Elliot were so caring and answered all my questions and concerns. Very quick to respond to online messages even on the weekends. I could not recommend Dr.Malik enough to anyone needing a doctor who really cares about her patients.

Dr. Malik was one of the best provider I have worked with. She is very understanding and explains everything in detail especially for someone who is seeing her for her first time. She and her nursing staff put my mind at ease throughout the whole process.

We had a great experience with Dr. Malik through our infertility treatment journey. She heard our issues with great patience and made honest/valuable recommendations. We initially saw a different Dr at SGF but later moved under Dr. Malik's care. She performed couple of minor surgeries and all went great. I was able to conceive in October of 2019 through IVF and delivered a very healthy baby in June. I would definitely recommend Dr. Malik and SGF staff to anyone who are facing issues with conceiving naturally. They are super kind (Patrice, Pam Collins, Julie) and always there for you.

Dr. Malik was very nice and friendly. Makes you feel at ease during visits. She handled me a couple of times during my ultrasound and she does a great job esp in communication with the patients.

Dr. Malik and the entire SGF staff are incredibly sweet, compassionate, knowledgeable, and amazing individuals! I cannot thank them enough for their persistence and kindness throughout my IVF journey. I couldn't have asked for better care, it was absolutely phenomenal. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me achieve my biggest dream to become a mother. I am about to welcome two little ones very soon!!

My husband and I love love love SGF, especially Dr. Malik! My only regret was not being able to continue care for my pregnancy with Dr. Malik and her team because we happened to conceive naturally. Please, I encourage anyone thinking to see a fertility specialist to reach out to them. You do not need a referral and can independently make an appointment!

Dr. Malik was my doctor at the Shady Grove Fertility location in Woodbridge, VA. Throughout the year that I worked with her, she was patient, understanding, and prepared to help us through the process any way that she could.
