Dr. Shouieb Tambra, MD

I came to Dr. Tambra’s practice during a coronary admission. He was called in to consult on kidney issues. He is a very remarkable young doctor. Whether rounding at the hospital or seeing patients in his office, he takes plenty of time to explain his treatment plan. He’s articulate, patient, and highly skilled; he isn’t haughty or arrogant. He’s never rushed or in a hurry. When he is with you, he is 100% focused on you. The best single word to describe Dr. Tambra is “kind.” Another appropriate descriptor is “decent.” One can just tell from the first encounter with him that he is a person of genuine depth whose purpose in life is healing others. He really cares about his patients. He’s well-versed in other medical specialties and how they affect his speciality of nephrology (kidneys.) He is excellent at managing kidney dialysis. He stands out from the crowd as a doctor to have forever.

I ended up in the emergency room - luckily Dr Tambra was on duty - while it took several days to figure out what my problem was, every day he would stop by and explain what tests they were running and what the current "best guess" was - I always looked forward to his visits as he was the only doctor who took the time to explain anything
