Dr. Shivani Mehta, MD

I originally liked this provider but she does't throughly listen & will create bigger problems because of this. She pushed a more expensive time released medication & openly saying Insurance most likely won't take this, in order to not have to take my medication in the morning. To find out 3 appts later from this provider I could be taking my whole dose at night. Mayo clinic even suggests my medication be taken at night based on my mg. She inferred i was having feelings and ideations despite repeatedly stating that is not how I feel. She made her own interpretations based on a phrase taken out of context because she was not throughly listening. Accused me of stopping my medication when I didn't When I pointed out that I was very uncomfortable with how she was providing care she became defensive. Her urge to show concern came off as a self fulfilling prophecy and not concern for me, as her patient. She made things worse not better.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. My son was referred to Dr. Mehta by his pediatrician. His appointment was scheduled over 3 months out. We waited 3 months to see her and I took a day off of work only to be turned away the day of the appointment. Whoever called the day before to confirm the appointment NEVER mentioned that we were to be there 30-45 min prior to the appointment time and NEVER mentioned that my 2 year old could not be there. They offered the reschedule his appointment for another 3 months out! My child is needing mental health services and this provider is okay making a child wait 6 months to be seen?! Unacceptable in my opinion. The staff is very unprofessional, lack empathy and understanding and could work on their communication skills. Try to avoid this provider if possible and take your child to someone who understands the urgency of mental health issues especially for a child.

Dr Mehta has greatly helped my daughter. My daughter has responded well to her and she is the first person that has been able to get my teenager to open up and talk.

She is caring and listens to our concerns as parents. She has helped my child greatly.

Does not listen to the actual needs of patients and concerns of parents. Will force medication on your child after having spent 5 to 10 minutes talking with them. Do your research on medication prescribed and make sure it's the right decision for your child. Drs make mistakes everyday and only you can advocate for your child.
