My husband was admitted to Sycamore and Dr Pema was the podiatrist on staff. Four days later, in my husbands room, Dr. Pema performed a debridement on my husbands toe. According to my husband, there was no time given for the numbing shots to take affect before cutting and debridement and he suffered terrible pain. The doctor never spoke to my husband before, during or after. The discharge instructions were: foot dressing, adaptic, covered with kerlex or gauze every 48 hours. The Dr's name and phone number were also written down. No mention of a follow up. I called the number written down a few days later and talked to a girl in his office. I explained that my husband had had surgery at sycamore and I wanted to schedule a follow up or have his record of surgery sent to our primary Dr. She said there was no record of his surgery and I'd have to call the hospital for any information. My husband will be seeing a wound Dr next week. Terrible experience.

Dr Pema and his team were fabulous. They listened, cared, made an uncomfortable debidment not as bad as I envisioned. I was a practice management consultant for 36 years, and therefore attuned to mediocre vs exceptional patient care. Dr. Pema and team deserve a 12 star! Highly recommended.

My wife had a biopsy taken for testing. He sent it to an out of state, out of network lab. Results is an $800 bill compared to $250 if covered. I have no idea about the care. We got the notice about the bill 11 months after the service date. I wasn't there, so I don't know if this was explained to my wife or she didn't understand. To me this is irresponsible to use a lab which is not covered by a major carrier for our area.

Stay away from this hack! I went to Mr. Pema due to a heel spur beneath my Achilles tendon which required surgical repair. While under Mr. Pema's care, I suffered through 2 reconstructive surgeries that resulted with Achillies tendon ruptures. I finally went to an orthopedic surgeon who specialized in the foot and ankle. Reconstructive surgery by Dr. Amis was successful. 4 years later and still no rupture. I am reminded of Mr. Pema's incompetence everyday as I struggle with pain.

I had an ingrown toenail removed permanently by Dr. Pema many years ago and it has turned out great! My toe is pain free and the remaining toenail looks normal cosmetically. I am very pleased with the results. He has also taken care of my Mom to resolve her plantar fasciitis condition. I appreciate his expertise and professionalism.

I just had my ingrown toenail removed and had the root killed. I was very pleased with Dr. Pema and his staff. The facility is clean, everyone is nice, and the procedure went very well. I'll be back in 3 weeks to get the other toe corrected as well. Would happily recommend Dr. Pema and his team.

Experience was not good. Gave him the benefit of a doubt. Did surgery and it did not help and problem returned. Injured foot do to a fall. He did nothing helpful. Was given a shoe to use that was all wrong and caused back problem. Totally condiscending in attitude. Will not go back.

Very kind, approaches care with least invasive practices first. Listens to the patient and has excellent office staff. Stays very close to the schedule, minimal waiting time. Has early morning appointments for those of us who want to come before work. I have avoided surgery for over two years thanks to Dr. Pema's excellent care!
