Dr. Shelly Odom is very good at what he does, very compassionate and a good listener I’ve been going to his practice for 5 years now.

Dr. Odom is a very good listener as well as an informed doctor. He takes care of our adult family members. He will refer patients to other specialists as needed. I highly recommend him.

I had a very bad upper respiratory infection. On my first visit NP, Kathleen Boykin, prescribed cough medicine with hydrocodone which made me violently ill. When I saw Dr. Odum, he walked out on me when I told him about this experience, and I previously had a very bad experience with steroids (he said I needed steroids). I told him to prescribe it, and I would talk to the Pharmacist about the comparison of Prednisone and Medrol side effects. I was very upset and sick. I tried to apologize for anything I said that could have been offensive, and he went into his office and shut the door. When I went to the urgent care in Raleigh, I was x-rayed and was diagnosed with bronchitis. They said my xray was hazy. When I corresponded with my NP as to what happened with Dr. Odum, she said she agreed 100% with him and that he was a good doctor. How can a provider agree that a provider, walking out on a patient is ok? I think he was frustrated with me, but no one was more frustrated than me.

Dr. Odom always takes time with me and explains everything very thoroughly. He is compassionate, caring and an excellent doctor. I literally trust him with my life.

Dr.Shelly Odom exemplifies what it means to be a family Physician. He patiently listens, understands, he is knowledgeable and kind. Dr. Odom genuinely cares. He is a rare gem, and CCFP and the community of Morehead City NC is very lucky to have him as a Physician. Thank you Dr Odom !

Had to find a primary care physician after Urgent care no longer accepted my insurance!Glad it happened because I started seeing Dr. Odom at CCFP.He is very helpful & goes out of his way to accommodate my schedule.He listens & takes his time explaining my treatment. He cares about his patients & always has a smile on his face.The app/portal at CCFP is so convenient with my busy schedule.I send messages directly to Dr. Odom about a concern & he responds right away!Staff's great-highly recommended

Dr. Shelly B. Odom was my primary care physician when I lived in North Carolina. He is a very good listener and an excellent diagnostician. I always felt that I was being given superb care when I was being treated by Dr. Odom. I recently moved back to Michigan and, unfortunately, will not be able to continue receiving care from him.

Dr. Odom is an excellent doctor and he cares about his patients. He correctly diagnosed my problem and gave me the medical care that I needed. He explained my condition and answered my questions. Thank you Dr. Odom for your excellent medical care! I sincerely appreciate it!!!

Dr. Odom greeted us with a smile and took his time explaining the care needed for our daughter. He is a great addition to CCFP and we will definitely be seeing him again at our next visit.

Staff is always friendly and Dr. Odom always greets you with a smile. He is very knowledgeable, trustworthy, and friendly. Scheduling has never been an issue. Refills are always filled quickly.

Dr. Odem may be a very good Doctor, However his staff is incompetent. Moved from Va. approx. 2 years ago. Selected CCFP and Dr. Odem as my new doctor. Had all my records transferred. (They admitted they have them) Got sick and called to make an appointment. They told me I was not a patient and they were not accepting new patients. Get to start over with another practice. They offered "we are sorry" Yes. This was written at a time of frustration.

I found Dr. Odom to be thorough and thoughtful in my care.

Moved to this practice from another that I had seen for over 15 years. Working with Dr. Odom was very frustrating. If you want trouble having your prescriptions refilled (even with a fax from previous provider and the damn pill bottles), this is the primary care for you! They also made me sign a form that I would have to allow drug testing at any point or have my care suspended. Blood or urine can be requested at any time. I do not even have any narcotics/opiates prescribed to me.
