Dangerous 'advice' for ED patients; lost her touch
Dr. Betman has lost her touch. I began seeing her more than 10 years ago, on recommendation from my therapist. Dr. Betman used to be the gold standard for PCP care for patients with eating disorders. Not sure what happened.I have continued to struggle with eating disorders, in addition to PCOS and hypothyroidism. I asked for a yearly check of my thyroid levels and she told me no because they don't change that often. After switching to a proper endocrinologist, less than a year after Dr. Betman last tested, I have proof this isn't true. Her negligence means I have been on an improper dose of medication for months.Additionally, as part of a conversation where she pushed me to lose weight, she suggested I 'talk to someone' about my issues with food. I reminded her that I have, that the therapist I see referred me to her, and that I have had an eating disorder for decades. It was clear, based on her reaction when I said this, as well as other comments, that she didn't even bother to lo

Wonderful doctor. Really listens. As a woman, i often find many doctors disregard a woman's symptoms but dr betman really listens and takes time to help, listen, treat, and heal. Highly knowledgeable and friendly.

In an environment that normally prioritizes quick diagnoses in order to pack the next patient in, Dr. Betman is a breath of fresh air. I appreciate her patience and attention to detail. Her staff is also amazing. They are quick to respond if I have questions and were able to help me troubleshoot a portal issue quickly and pleasantly.

Never on time. I waited at least 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment time--not to mention I always arrive early so factor in 15-20mins so you'll be waiting for close to an hour. Also she did unnecessary blood work procedures that thankfully my insurance covered but I really didn't need done. Also one of the nurses gave me an injection really close to my rotator cuff. Thankfully I didn't get SIRVA. I've been through too much with this one.

I have been her patient for 15 years. Dr. Betman listens to your symptoms and knows your family history doesn't blame all of your symptoms on your weight or aging etc... she gets to the cause. She is very patient, kind and knowledgeable. She orders necessary test to confirm and treat a diagnosis. I have recommended her to friends and family. As long as she is in practice, I will remain her patient.
