Dr Ray has been my dermatologist for many years. She has done needed surgeries for me and helps me with my psoriasis medication so that I can get it with no cost to me. Her staff are good and her office is breathtakingly gorgeous! You feel pampered when you are there. I will be her patient as long as she is practicing.

Terrible Practice
Dr. Ray scolded me the entire appointment. I was scolded about being in the sun too much during my lifetime. The front staff were rude and unprofessional. Don’t waste your time with a 2 hour wait for a 5 minute appointment. This was a terrible experience.

Waited 1.5 hrs in waiting room, (receptionist was arrogant and surly), and another half hr in treatment rm. Seen by nurse who told me that they were busy and that I could only present questions about ONE skin problem. P.A. (Katie) came in and gave me about ten minutes time. She did not inspect my body or do any procedures, she merely gave me a listing of procedures I could get done at the place next door. She told me that I would need a new appointment to talk about any problems beyond one. I have alopecia; her recommendation was to have each spot on my scalp (20 spots) injected with steroids (none of which would be covered by insurance). All she seemed to be interested in was selling me their products. I was then rushed out the door. At 69 years of age, I have seen many Dermatologists, this one was by far the worst. I do not recommend that anyone schedule an appointment with Advanced Dermatology and Skin Care Specialists, not anyone employed therein.

Advanced Dermatology is a total disappointment! – Sep 29, 2021
×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Ray?
THIS PLACE IS A JOKE. Scheduled a 9:30 appointment with whoever answered the phone (wish I knew so I could call her out personally). Was told to be here by 9:00 in order to get “screened” for Covid. Arrived MINUTES after 9:00 due to traffic after driving an hour to be there, only to be told that since I wasn’t here by 9:00 I would not be seen and that I needed to leave the building. WHO DOES THIS? And if you plan to do this, how about the person who actually schedules the appointments make sure the patient understands if you are NOT here by 9:00 on the dot, you will not be seen. HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU SPEND YOUR TIME AND MONEY ON ANOTHER DERMATOLOGIST WHO ACTUALLY CARES ABOUT THEIR PATIENTS.

Terrible! After waiting for over a month for an appointment I spent almost 2 hours in the very full waiting room. Dr. Ray spent less than 5 minutes with me despite the long wait. She seemed very preoccupied and came across as very snooty and rude. She didn't really address the issues for which I scheduled the appointment. Won't waste my time again. I would rather drive to Birmingham.

I had a cherry red face for days and was referred to Dr. Ray. She was able to determine I had rosacea and started me on treatment right away. In a very short period of time, my face cleared up and you can't tell I have rosacea at all now. She was very understanding of how upset I was and took lots of time to answer my questions about the condition. She and her staff are always very kind and courteous when I call or come in.
