Dr. Shelby Kenner, MD

would love to recommend Dr. Kenner to anyone as she has been my Family physician since she took over the practice from my previous doctor. She is experienced and kind. However, after making an appointment with her I was told it would be nearly 3 months to see her. I didn't think much of it until my wife unexpectedly became ill and was in urgent need of care. They told her it would also be 3 months because she was considered a new patient. After hearing this I called to inquire more and was told since we had not seen the doc in over two years we were considered new patients and that this was standard procedure across the country. Forgive me for being healthy but I don't understand why I was never notified of this until now. Guess you can't even rely on your doc to be there for you in this new world. Called Parkview and had an appointment with a new doc the same day...smh.

Dr Kenner takes care of people - not just patients. She takes into account all the medical issues and past history so that she can treat the entire problem. She listens carefully, asks pointed, relevant questions so that she is sure to understand the entire medical picture. She explains what needs to be done and why. She is always respectful and lets me explain things in my words with my emotions! She backs up her incredible medical knowledge with true humanity and privacy. Terrific doctor, wonderful person and a true example of what it looks like to be a child of God.

She's nice, but I didnt feel like she trusted me so in return I dont trust her. I've always believed your family physician is somone you can go to with your deepest concerns about your we being, and I personally felt judged and misunderstood.

From the moment Dr. Kenner walked into the room, my anxiety lessened and my fears abated. She is sincerely caring, cautious, and obviously, competent. My entire experience made me a believer again that there still is one doctor who can truly hear my pain and offer advise and console that is not just medical. I am a very lucky patient.

Dr. Kenner very concerned about our previous health care records for myself and husband and very thorough of our exams. She even noted problems with my husband and ordered lab and x-rays. I feel she is a very caring doctor and think she is the kind of doctor we have been looking for!

I have never met any dr like dr kenner. She cares about all aspects of your life. And truly cares for patients. As a matter of fact I live close to Lafayette, but I still drive to ft Wayne to keep her as my physician.

Dr Kenner is a very personable physician but does not take all things in to consideration. For example, giving detailed instructions to an 86 year old patient, on memory/dementia medications, to soak-apply bacitracin-wrap an infected toe rather than truly work with the toe to release infection or refer to podiatrist.

We had a great first visit with Dr. Kenner. The wait time was very short and her staff is kind and courteous. My kids felt very comfortable with her. Her exam was thorough and she was kind and knowledgeable while answering my questions. We will definitely schedule a return visit.

I've been very happy with Dr. Kenner since I returned to Fort Wayne. She was my parent's primary physician, and I've happily recommended her to other family members. She listens well, works with both skill and compassion, and takes the time to help that goes above and beyond the expectations of her patients.
