Dr Shawn Peffall
There can be a wait to see him, but you know when your time comes, he will give you the time you need. He asks if you have questions, answers them to your understanding, explains information from other doctors. He is through in his exam, provides education, support and needed referrals. As he moved to another location, Reisterstown from Overlea, I feel it is worth the time and distance to see an excellent doctor. If he cannot see you, then you can see his nurse practitioner who is very good.

Never sees you on time
I've only had three appointments with Dr. Peffall. Now I only get Mondays and Tuesdays off of work so I need my appointments those days. The first appointment he saw me after about a 30 minute wait in the office not including the waiting room. The next appointment, same thing but I was in the waiting room for about 1 hr and they never called my name so I just left and rescheduled. Today, I had an appointment for 9 am. I got there at about 8:45 and gave my name to the receptionist. Waited till about 9:15 am when they were taking people in who arrived AFTER me. I went up and told the receptionist but, she just said he is running behind. ????? I won't ever go back there.

Excellent Doctor. He takes his time and is willing to look at how conditions interact with each other. Dr Peffall was able to explain my complicated, confusing c-spine situation in a way that allowed me feel good about my current and future treatment options.

I would wait 6 hours to see this guy! The wait time, however, has much improved since his move to Reisterstown. He really cares about his patients and is a very smart doctor on a wide range of subjects. Good communication of pros and cons of procedures. Just the right doctor for those patients with complex health issues. Very thorough. Will spend as much time with you as you need to answer any questions and is easily available to communicate with during after hours.

I have recommended Dr. Peffall to many of my friends who have needed an excellent Internal Medicine doctor. I have been seeing him for 5 years. He really has a wealth of knowledge. His mind never stops working. He is genuine, and sincerely wants to investigate any health issue to its core so treatment can be initiated. He is easy to reach when needed.

Dr Peffall is a good doctor. Very thorough, listens and takes time to answer questions. However his wait time is terrible. I have gone to him for years and and always had to wait but the last time I went the wait was 3 hours! At this point I left and never saw him. I won't go back because of this. I don't have time to waste like this. I think he overbooks. I made my appointment a month in advance too. The reason for my rating is the poor wait time.

I don't consider 2 hrs a short wait. Perhaps he should schedule less appts if he is going to take longer with each patient. My time is as valuable as his although when I told him that he got very aggressive and hostile. Not even a hint of an apology. If you value your time at all I would not recommend him. He implied I should be grateful he was willing to see me. No thanks. I can find other caring and good doctors who don't think they are worth more than I am.

Dr. Peffell is just a great doctor. A few of my very close friends use him as well and we all love him. Like people say, the wait time can be a bit long, but that's because he actually spends time on each individual patient! Just make sure your phone is charged, bring a book to read or take a nap!
