Dr. Shannon Floyd, DPM

There was no exam - she and 2 other women came into the office LOOKED at my foot - DID NOT TOUCH - and diagnosed me with back problems. I tried to dispute the medicare payment but Floyd charged for an 'office visit' and got paid. IMHO a sham!! Yes, she very nice and 'sweet' but I'm not looking for a friend - I was looking for a doctor that knows podiatry. Would HIGHLY NOT RECOMMEND.

Dr. Floyd performed a surgery on my toes that has eliminated a constant and bothersome pain in those toes. I am very happy with both the surgery and the follow up attention. Her staff are also superb.

I saw her for pain on the bottom of my foot behind the toes. She sweetly assured me it was an easy fix. I was given a cortisone injection through the TOP of my foot and the needle got stuck. It was in a tendon and within a week the toe adjacent to the injection had drawn up and developed into a hammer toe. When I returned to ask what could be done about it she told me to put a band aid on it!! I got upset, she was no longer sweet, got defensive, and ordered me out of her office. As I read other reviews, I see I am not the first one she has treated this way! I am an avid walker and have had to get new shoes with a larger toe box and must put a protective sleeve on the deformed toe. I got this from a capable podiatrist I had to see after my nightmare with her.

She listened and really helped me.

My experience with Dr Floyd was OK until the end. I had the bunionectomy after trying the shot. I asked before surgery if there would be 2 screws. The answer was yes, I was hoping for some part to hold it together. After surgery I asked if she put 2 screws. Her answer was no, my bone was too small so there was now a "pin" and 1 screw. I requested the X-rays and things changed. When I received them I could not see the "pin" had no idea what it was. I asked where it was?? In my last visit I asked again and I was told I was "negative." I have every right to understand what is in my foot!!!!!! I told her that she never explained the pin and she told me "I forgot". She told me to leave!!!! I am very involved in my health and did nothing wrong but ask for answers. Be aware!!!! The scar is hideous, my big toe is turned in still and it doesn't touch the floor and I have no idea where the pin is. Nancy Herlihy The Villages

After researching and reviewing podiatrists in the area, I chose Dr. Floyd for my bunion and osteotomy surgery. I am just delighted with the treatment and results from the surgery. All of the subsequent follow up office visits have been positive. I highly recommend Dr. Floyd and will return for treatment later this year for the other foot.

On May 24, 2018 Dr. Floyd performed surgery to remove a bunion and correct a hammer toe my right foot. At my last checkup I had questions because part of my bunion was still visible and I could not wear a regular shoe and the hammer toe was still turned under. Dr. Floyd said that she would like to do another surgery. I told her that I would like to get a couple other opinions. I saw two other doctors, one affiliated with the University of FL & the other located in Ocala. Both doctors showed me Dr. Floyd's post-surgery ex-rays. What a surprise - you could plainly see that the two screws that she placed in my foot were not even anchored in the bone & could be felt through the skin on the top of my foot. On March 20, 2019 I underwent another surgery - that would be 2 foot surgeries within a 10-month period! My new doctor removed the remaining bunion, inserted 2 screws but had to fuse 2 of my toe joints. The hammer toe was inoperable. Definitely not a good experience! Patients beware!

I have been seeing Dr Floyd for 7 months before I have finally decided to go ahead with the surgery because nothing else worked. She patiently explored EVERY avenue with me over and over and never lost patience with me when I wanted to wait or not do surgery yet. No pressure at all or irritation from her like you get from some doctors. She listens to you and spends as much time as you need. We’ll see how the surgery goes.

Dr. Floyd is the best. She is also a compassionate person. I would recommend her to anyone. And her staff are very friendly too.

What a fantastic, thorough, and infection conscious surgeon Dr. Floyd is. Lovely and fun bed side manner and quite educated. She just did surgery on me for hammertoe correction of the second, third, fourth and fifth toes on Thursday, April 26th, 2018. Today is the 28th. First follow up is May 3rd. I would highly recommend this phenomenal foot and ankle surgeon anytime, any place and anywhere.

Dr. Shannon Floyd is God sent. She is confident, competent, compassionate, genuine, loves her job and all her patients. I highly recommend Dr. Floyd if need arises.

I love Dr. Floyd, she is very knowledgeable & knows her stuff......she actually listens to you & she's very honest she will let you know if you didn't follow her instructions (I didn't call her when I should have) I was in her office this morning & she put a huge needle in my foot & I still love her......????????

VERY DISAPPOINTED. AFTER ATTEMPTING 4-5 TIME TO ADJUST ILL FITTING ORTHODICS SHE HAD MADE FOR ME, I REQUESTED A REFUND OF THE $300.00 THAT I HAD PAID. THIS REQUEST HAS BEEN REFUSED................SHE IS WILLING TO WORK WITH ME BUT EACH TIME SHE DOES THE WORK GETS WORSE AND WORSE. I HAVE NEVER HAD A REQUEST FOR A REFUND REFUSED - IS THIS LEGAL?????? PLEASE BE AWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Best doctor visit I've had in a long time! Dr. Floyd is very professional and made me feel extremely comfortable. All my questions and concerns were answered in a way that I clearly understood.

Dr. Floyd rocks. She will somehow find time to fit you in. She is compassionate and is extremely knowledgeable and takes time to explain things to you. Glad she is around
