Dr. Shahzaman Abbasi, MD

Interviewed Abbasi in June 2022 after my long time physician retired, told me that my retired doctor was very good and proceeded to take me off much of the medical regiment I had been on for the last several years and proceeded to tell me I lacked vitamin D and had sleep apnea. I had blood work done and without the meds that I have been taking, having to compensate with over the counter medication to be able to function (walk mostly) my liver enzymes are high for the first time ever. Guess what, my vitamin D level was well in perspective of normal. I have read several posts about Shahzaman Abbasi and there seems to be a theme to his way of practice. If your interested in a doctor who can practice empathy with the patient Shahzaman Abbasi is not the one to see, zero empathy and very narrow minded.

I've moved to Lansing and my insurance was also changed. Dr Abbasi was referred to me by the office of the doctor my insurance determined as PCP. That doctor would not receive me as a new patient until September. I had urgency to see a doctor and Dr. Abbasi opened his practice to receive me. Excellent service of the staff and the doctor. I considered myself lucky for having been referred to this doctor.

Dr. Abbasi is kind, knowledgeable, and thorough. My wife and I have been seeing him for about 3 years. I highly recommend him.

I was able to get in, got some medicine that was needed for symptoms, listened initially. After first couple of visits, all he could talk about was Vitamin D solving every problem in my life, then switched to sleep apnea, said when the test confirmed I had it it would solve all of my problems, spent the money on the test, no issues. This was particularly tough because I had no symptoms of apnea other than weight. I came in after losing 50 lbs over the course of 6 months, and he didn't even mention it, made me very worried if he was even looking at my history, that sort of change should at least bring up a question of some kind to make sure I was doing something to cause it and not just growing a huge tapeworm.
