Wonderful Doctor, GREAT surgeon

Flying to Mass General after locally being told I needed to see a PCP for chest pain left me unerved and freaked out. The Mass General ER doctor listened to me and put in in observation over nigh. I was diagnosed iwth an 80 percent blockage which because of its location I needed a by-pass. Dr. M. did a wonderful job and saved my life. Actually the whole team was outstanding! Thank you all for you integrity and competence. You are all a blessing.

Dr Melnitchouk explained everything thoroughly to me before surgery. Once scheduled his PA kept in contact with me and gave me helpful information and guidance to get through my preop testing. After surgery Dr Melnitchouk visited me every day rather just than leaving me to PAs and the rounding team, again keeping me informed about my progress. So caring and kind, I can’t say enough.

I knew after meeting with Dr. Melnotchouk that this was the man to do my surgery. I had a list of almost 30 questions written down for my meeting.. he answered 27 without me asking. After an hour meeting, his attention to detail, explanation and his complete focus on me confirmed that he was the best person for me. His focus was incredible.. he must have received 5-6 pages during our meeting and didn’t look at his pager a single time until our meeting concluded. Great man very dedicated. Dr. Melnitchouk: A - spent a lot of time explaining and drawing explanations of the exact procedures he intended to perform along with his reasoning for the proposed surgeries. B - personally opened and closed. C - visited every morning post procedure, even on a Sunday several days later.

I would absolutely recommend Dr. Melnitchouk. Not only is he a great surgeon but he has a great way with patients. You completely get the feeling that he truely cares about the outcome of you surgery and always takes the time to speak to family members about any concerns they have. Highly recommended !!

Dr. Melnitchouk is not only an incredibly talented surgeon, but he connects with his patients by being compassionate and remembering all their concerns. I had a minimally invasive mitral valve repair. Even when he ran into a more extensive repair than expected, he kept with the plan and I now have a new life. I would give him an extra star if I could.

How's is anyone not giving this guy a 5? He is possibly the most skilled heart surgeon in the country. He doesn't need tremendous bedside manner or any of that. I went to him because I had a tricky surgery, and he got it done flawlessly. Besides that, he saw me every day in the hospital Andrew his staff also dropped in. You can't ask for more.
