Can’t consider anyone else’s opinion
My guess is Dr. Whitney has had to fight to be take seriously in her career, because she absolutely cannot accept that there could be any other possibilities. She met with my daughter only one time and called me making a diagnosis without ever even asking me about any of our history or what led up to her hospitalization. When I tried to ask questions and do more thorough problem solving she immediately shut down, interrupting every single sentence I started. At one point I even finally asked, “Can I please finish my sentence?” I finally realized she wasn’t gonna listen and I got very quiet and let her finish. Before we hung up I kindly suggested that to help parents feel seen she might consider talking with them first and listening to them before diagnosing. She didn’t even let me finish that sentence before she was saying, “I have worked with many, many, MANY families and have NEVER had anyone have a problem with me.” Ok. So sad for families with kids who have to see her.

Dr Whitney could not talk objectively and respectfully about alternative forms of treatment. I expect open knowledgeable teaching about diagnosis, prognosis, and varied treatments. I expect the support person to be as important as the client and informed as well. I expect a respectful response to all concerns and questions.

I have never connected as well as I do with Dr. Whitney. She is down to earth and very kind. She really connects with me as a patient. I have GAD and depression and she always has a smile and a kind word in addition to listening to me.

I called in the evening as I was out of my medication that helps me breathe. I have PTSD, Severe Panic with Agoraphobia. I lost my best friend, my mother 17 months ago and my son died in a car accident June 2, 2018. The pharmacist told me She could have called and told the pharmacy to fill my medication instead she made me wait a day to get the medication that controls my breathing, heart palpitations, visions of burying my son, and to function as I am a full time caregiver. Very rude
