Passionate about her patients
Dr. Munir cares about the overall health and wellbeing of her patients. Everything she encourages is because she's seen the impact obesity, diabetes, thyroid problems, etc. have caused so many people and wants to help us naturally and independently work at making life changes. I will admit, I was not the happiest camper starting off following her no-compromise list of foods to eat and avoid, but I have seen results in 3 months. She also wants to talk through any issues I've faced through changing my eating habits and increasing my exercise. She also recognizes the barriers the pandemic has made and wants to keep me safe from that as well. Her love for people comes through in her appointments.

I started seeing Dr. Munir in May because I had been dealing with chronic pain for about a year and 1/2. I received a much needed surgery but since I wasn't very mobile during that year and 1/2, I needed some help with my diet and getting back into a regular (and manageable) exercise routine. Dr. Munir took the time to really understand my background, eating habits, and the trauma my body had faced. She also explained that the weight loss diet was built on science and focused on changing my life style rather than just a "loose weight fast" plan. With regular visits, care, and compassion, I have lost 52lbs in 4 months. The best part is I truly feel confident that I will be able to maintain this weight and my exercise routine because Dr. Munir provided me with tools that will last me a lifetime. I would recommend Dr. Munir 100 times over - she is outstanding at what she does!

Dr.Munir is AMAZING. I went into her office thinking she was going to be like every other wieght loss doctor and offer me appetite suppressant. I was totally wrong. She took the time to ask me what diets I have done in the past, when I saw the most results and then she gave me a detailed list of what foods to eat, what portion sizes to eat and what foods to avoid. With her guidance and regular check in, I lost 60 pounds working with her. I would highly recommend her if you are willing to put in the work and follow her instructions exactly.

I was referred to Dr. Munir by a surgeon I went to for a possible hernia repair. He felt my chances for a successful outcome would be greatly improved by loosing a great deal of weight. My initial visit with her was July 2, 2019. At that time I weighed 262.4 lbs. She asked me about my eating and exercise habits. She helped me see that what was needed was a lifestyle change not a quick fix. The plan was to document my intake and activity an return in 2 weeks. After reviewing my recordings she designed a plan for me to follow. I've gone back for follow-up appointments several times since. As of Sept 24th I've lost 47 lbs. She's helped me learn how plan my meals so I'm not hungry and still getting the nutrition I need.

Dr. Munir is one of a kind. I had been to countless nutritionists, dieticians and bariatric surgeons before I met her. Not a single doctor could figure out how to help me lose weight, except for surgery. Dr. Munir took the time to explain nutrition and obesity as a disease to me and helped me lose 33 lbs in only 5 weeks. She is kind, brilliant, and serious about ending obesity. I will forever be grateful to her.

My husband is Dr. Munir's patient; but since I would be doing all the food preparation, this new eating style affected me as well. I expected the new way of eating to be impossible; like the countless diets I had been on in the past; it was not like that. We were allowed larger portions than we were use to eating, didn't get hungry or crave foods, and we started losing weight within a few days. She is informative, encouraging, understanding, and genuinely cares about her patients.

Dr. Munir has shown me a change-of-lifestyle approach to loosing weight that has worked. This food plan is low in carbohydrates and high in protein. It has shown me what foods to eat and what not to eat in order to loose weight and maintain the weight loss. Since my weight loss my health and energy level have increased. I require less sleep at night and no longer need to nap during the day. My blood pressure has lowered so that my physician has taken me off blood pressure medicine.

Dr. Munir takes the time with each patient to discuss their needs, goals and the plan of action. She thoroughly explains why obesity is now considered a disease and must be treated as such. Dr. Munir is very personable and caring. Each time I've visited her I've some away feeling successful and confident in my journey to a healthy weight. She's a doctor I enjoy going to.

I went in expecting to have a bad experience, I expected to meet someone who wouldn't see me as an individual, with my own needs and abilities. At the second appointment, when I showed her that I had met all of the marks set for me, but not by following her plan, that I realized that she was willing to treat ME. She was willing to let me know what was best for me, and to guide me rather than to force me. She is intelligent, insightful, and a good communicator. My experience of her was all good.
