Dr. Sebastian Groot, DO

I am deeply appreciative to be under the care of Dr. Groot. Throughout my life, I have unfortunately experienced instances of medical negligence, including misdiagnoses, incorrect medications, and inadequate testing. As an adult, I continued to encounter similar issues with various healthcare providers. Following extensive research, I discovered Dr. Groot. Due to numerous unconnected symptoms and my tendency towards hypochondria, I required comprehensive attention. Dr. Groot diligently addressed each concern, ordered thorough testing, and personally communicated my results, exceeding my expectations. His meticulous approach is a welcome change after 28 years of substandard care, and I confidently attest that Dr. Groot exemplifies exceptional medical practice.

Always takes time to listen - has great suggestions and alternatives to medications

I do not recommend Dr. Groot if you are looking for a doctor who truly listens, understands and believes in preventive care. I came in for a preventive visit to establish care with Dr. Groot as my primary care physician. Although I made it clear I had no concerns, he entered a diagnostic code for migraines, and as a result I was billed for the visit even though my insurance covers preventive care 100% (when going over my health history I mentioned I had experienced a migraine once, a year earlier, on a Transatlantic flight when I was dehydrated due to nursing my 6-month-old daughter). Either Dr. Groot completely misunderstood what I shared with him, or there's another reason he used an inaccurate diagnostic code. Dr. Groot didn't change the code even after I disputed the diagnosis, insisting my visit was "problem-based." During the appointment Dr. Groot seemed caring, attuned and transparent, but it turns out he is not someone I can trust. I will not be going back to Dr. Groot.
