The bill more than doubled after the procedure
I was referred to PNW Urology Specialists by my primary care physician because a urine test found traces of blood. Dr. O'Keefe recommended a cystourethroscopy to examine my bladder. I was told they verified my insurance benefits and PNWUS gave me an estimate of $727, which I paid. After the procedure, I received another bill for an additional $861. When I asked for an explanation of the additional charges, I was given three different answers: My insurance company gave them the wrong information; the estimate was only for the doctor services, not the clinic; and finally, there was a complication with the procedure. They seemed to be grasping for any explanation I would accept. Seeing no other choice, I paid the bill. But I sure do feel scammed. Thankfully, there are other urologists in Bellingham. I do not intend to use this one again.

Nice enough guy
Maybe it didn't help that I botched his name, but he seemed annoyed at my questions though he did a great job explaining what another Urologist had done years earlier. Never did get the information I wanted about dealing with an ongoing issue except to say it was to be expected. Dr. OKeefe is a pediatric specialist so maybe that helps explain his demeanor with an old person. Not sure whether I'll get a review of the visit with test results or not. Nice staff, long wait and reasonable cost out of pocket.

Dr. O'Keefe is one of the finest Dr's I have experienced. He listens, explains, teaches and offers options. He is a great communicator and would be an excellent professor in a teaching hospital. All around an excellent health provider.

Dr Sean Okeefe worked a double miracle kidney stone surgeries, one for an emergency stint and the other to remove the stone, both delicate highly skilled finesse operations, involving a not so pleasant catheter. If I ever have another one of these horrible mineral pincushions stuck in my ureter tube this is the only Dr I would trust to remove it. He removed it so gently that I was walking around the same day. Dr Okeefe, Natasha and their staff saved me and my kidney.
