My Vet Treats My Pets Better, with More Respect
To me, McFadden’s ethically-challenged and is of questionable competence. I was put with him for a work injury. My prior doctor took a leave of absence. The first words out of his mouth were “Mr. …, you’re going back to work!' I was released to work in Feb 2024. He apparently didn't read my file. He then came over and grabbed my arm and wrenched on it. It hurt a lot.His diagnosis: “right shoulder pain”. Pain’s a symptom, not a diagnosis. MRI: 'Mild osteoarthrosis ... SLAP tear of the superior labrum ...'. That's a diagnosis! His restrictions: 'continue same restrictions permanent'. Previous doc's restrictions: 'light duty 10 lbs wt limit , ...'. Restrictions on work accommodation form: “No lifting greater than 20 pounds”. What? He claims I've reached MMI though there're 4 treatment options. He didn't discuss any of them. Said: too old for surgery at 53, too bad about the pain, deal with it. One treatment option's highly recommended for work comp patients with this injury.

Money is the Object
He told me my right knee was 'end stage' and my left knee also needed replacement. Although over the course of seeing him for a few years, they took several x-rays, McFadden NEVER reviewed a single one with me. Instead, he would typically show up with a student or a resident and essentially try to push me toward surgery, even when I told him that the pain was tolerable and I could still hike five miles with very little discomfort. My new doc at a competing othopedic practice told me to keep up the activity as pain permits. My goal is to keep my God given parts, worn out as they are, as long as possible. My new doc told me he would never operate on my left knee, while he would consider operating on the right one when range of motion is compromised, which it isn't. Look into the compensation model for orthopedic surgeons at Orlando Health, which drives them to make questionable decisions.

Low rating on Heath grades for a good reason!
He did what he wanted, and not what he told me before surgery he was going to do. He removed my rotator cuff rather than repairing it. His staff said Dr. Sean McFadden is interested in how many surgeries he can do in a day $$$ rather than what’s best for his patients. I would never recommend him to anyone. He is not an expert surgeon like Dr. Dale Cole or Cody Green. Perhaps since Orlando Health bought Jewett Orthopedic, the surgery staff will be scrutinized more carefully.

Total Reverse Shoulder Replacement
I had a wonderful experience with Dr McFadden and his staff. I felt he was very professional and told me in detail and in layman terms what needed to be done. I am thoroughly pleased with the results of my surgery (I'm 8 weeks out) and am able to use my right arm again after 3 years of immobility. I would definitely recommend this surgery with Dr McFadden.

Not interested in the patient.
Dr MacFadden did my meniscus surgery and I feel he did a good job. After treatment I was having issues with the onset of arthritis and wanted both knees addressed. MEDICARE turned down a gel shot in one knee, but when asked, Dr MacFadden said he didn't know why. I asked him to resubmit the request. After 4 weeks waiting for word on the approval, I called and was put through to the records dept. They stated the second request never went forward. The records dept stated that MEDICARE replied prior to my last visit with Dr MacFadden the reason for the denial, but he never bothered to review the report so I wasted 4 weeks in pain for a procedure that wasn't ever going to happen (or to try another avenue to support that knee). It seemed that he was only interested in the one knee that he performed surgery on.

Mike
i was very disappointed with the staff follow up. I was supposed to be contacted by the scheduler for surgery and it has NOT happened, in spite of my contacting the office several times asking for a call back to do so. If this is the follow up I can expect, I feel I need to find another surgeon.

I had a total Right knee replacement by Dr. Mcfadden. He is excellent!!!! It's been 3 and a half months. I am back at work full time. No pain. No problems. Working out in gym 5 days a week. Treadmill and bike. Walking, etc. Best thing ever happened to me. Before seeing him I could not use my right leg at all, due to the horrible knee. I went in for surgery at 630am was home the same day by 130pm Next day was up and walking. He is kind considerate, caring. The absolute best and most knowledgeable Dr. I've ever had.

DO NOT LET THIS MAN OPERATE ON YOU! He did a partial knee replacement on me and totally messed me up. My leg was crooked and I could not bend the knee nor walk. He yelled at me when he realized something was wrong and blamed it on me. I went to another doc and had to have a second surgery to fix it. It was 5 months of pain, frustration and loss. I lost my job because of all of this.

Dr. McFadden is an excellent doctor and he has earned my trust. When I came to him in 2012 for advice on my knee pain, he took the time to listen to me and explained all of my options. He does not like to do surgery if he can avoid it. I referred my brother to Dr McFadden for a shoulder issue and he was able to avoid surgery and is now healed. I read some of these reviews and urge everyone to do their own research. Make an appointment with Dr McFadden and see for yourself. The negative reviews on this site do not at all relate to my experience. I had to see Dr McFadden for both of my knees. As a former collegiate athlete, there is a lot of damage and I always felt that Dr McFadden had my best interests at heart.

Went to see Dr. McFadden for a shoulder issue that has reoccurred. I got my MRI's sent over to him and I simply was looking to speak to a professional about my options for repairing my shoulder. Before he introduced himself or asked about my pain, goals, or why I was there, he urged me that surgery was my only option. When I expressed that I was looking for the possibilities of non-surgical routes, he again pushed that surgery was the only thing that would help long term. To give more context, I have already had surgery on the SAME shoulder in the past, and it didn't solve the problem. So it's understandable why I wanted to speak to a professional about alternate options. It was very clear that he was not interested in listening to me so I left and continued my search for actual professionals that value you as a person before a customer. Beware doctors like this that push unneeded procedures.

Dr McFadden did not listen to anything I said and totally blew me off. He told me not to bother to come back unless it was still bothering me in 6 weeks and then he may do an MRI. He didn’t ask any questions about the problems I was having with my knee or what symptoms I was having. After paying to go to another ortho, I found out I have a torn miniscus and will probably need surgery. Very upset I had to pay for 2 doctor visits.

I have had a knee replacement with Jewett. McFadden have been AMAZING. Have always had professional and efficient care from the office, convenience clinic to the OR. I was totally blown away by the same day knee replacement surgery..AMAZING and I had no pain post op !! As a nurse for decades I have seen poor medical care and bedside manners.. not here... even trusted them with my daughter's arm fracture... I trust these professionals!! I refer them to whomever is in orthopedic need.

He just yelled he did not want me to go due to his own adhenda. Very very difficult to deal with.
