What started as an urgent care visit turned into 5 ED visits and 2 admission. I was diagnosed with a large kidney stone (first one) Dr Simon was the first urologist to see me and place a stent. I was just told I would experience mild UTI Symptoms. I’ve had a UTI and the pain and pressure was severe. I could barely walk. I called the office to make a follow up appt and was given a video appt a few days out. After the appt it was scheduled I’d have stone removal the next day. This is where the nightmare started. According to the office staff I was double insured and they couldn’t see me. I explained my first ins is canceled due to being at a LOA. well they didn’t help me and surgery was canceled. Fast forward another week of pain and feeling lost in this medical world. I call another urologist whose scheduler does the work and calls to verify that I indeed only have one insurance and the other was canceled. I am disappointed in the way I was treated and told he had no room to schedule me

Dr. Simon was called in by Scripps and took over my care and cleared a blockage when I could not urinate. Dr. Simon is an exceptional surgeon and was very kind and caring during my time at Scripps. Post operative care was also a very good experience. Highly recommend him as well as his staff..

One person that is cold and doesn't care much! One visit was enough for me to stay away.

He does not listen. He continuously cuts me off when I try to talk to him. He also prescribed medication that could have caused serious problems if the pharmacy had not caught his oversight.

Dr. Simon performed a routine outpatient vasectomy for me. Within a month, a very debilitating hydrocele formed in the surgical area. When Dr. Simon examined the hydrocele, his feedback that "these things can happen" and that "lots of men live with hydroceles". He recommended that I wait six months to see if it would resolve itself. Two months after the vasectomy, the hydrocele seemed to be growing rapidly, and I called Dr. Simon's office in a panic to schedule a follow up. The receptionist took down my info, but no one from Dr. Simon's office returned my call or followed up or to check on my recovery. I ultimately had the hydrocele corrected by another, excellent, local urologist. This surgery was very traumatic and debilitating, resulting in 6 months of recovery and significant pain (which is typical for hydrocele removal). Nearly a year after my vasectomy, there has still been no follow up from Dr. Simon. This experience shows that he at best does not really care about his patients.

I had briefly met Dr Simon the day before my surgery. My surgeons, Dr. Paul Hyde & Dr. Bridgett Duggan (excellent doctors!) had asked for Dr. Simon to insert stents into my uretur - I wasn't exactly sure why and truthfully it didn't matter. I was headed for a bowel resection and a total hysterectomy the next day. Long story short - both of my dream team surgeons individually told me that Dr. Simon saved my life. I'm not sure of the details but I am sure that I'm thankful for his expertise!
