Best doctor I've ever seen
Dr Scoggins has been my doctor for close to 20 years. He has always been very thorough and takes his time to discuss any concerns. I've seen some people complain about the wait but I realize that if he spends the same amount of time with others that he spends with me that means he's helping others the way he's helped me and I'm happy to wait. He straightforward and honest, which is a requirement for me. He's never given me bad advice and I literally credit him with saving my life. The facility he's at may have poor scheduling, rude admins and the assistants aren't always the best, but he is without a doubt the absolute best doctor I've ever seen. And over the course of the last 12 years I've had four oncologists, three separate GI doctors and palliative care. Dr. Scoggins remains the most stable and trustworthy among them all.

Amazing service.
I have seen several negative reviews about Dr. Scoggins and they do not sound like him at all. He has been our doctor for years and have never steered us wrong and kept us healthy. However, His Assistant, Dane? I think is his name..can be very off-putting, Not timely and is very slow at getting prescriptions and prior authorizations done in a timely manner so insurance can bill for it. His assistant doesn't have a very good bedside manner and sometimes feels like it's a chore for him to do prior auths. I think the negative reviews have to be misdirected anger an either the practice he works for or his assistant(s) not doing their job very well. I personally totally trust Dr. Scoggins with my health and he does take time enough to listen. He can be old-fashioned, but in a world of technology, it's a breath of fresh air. Covid has unilaterally slowed a lot of places up also, So I take that into account while making this review.

Wait time was exceptionally long, and I heard the doctor in another room making phone calls while I waited. He made unneccesary remarks about a woman getting her satisfaction in life from cleaning and cooking. I asked for a test which he said he would give, and he did not order it. He called this 5 minute rushed interview a physical, when I know it wasn't, and didn't need to see me for a whole year. He said I wasn't taking many medications and wanted to give me another one, even after I told him I couldn't take it. Doesn't listen well. Was very off-putting. In general, not a person I feel I can trust with my health.

Unprofessional - overprescribes controlled substances, does not provide comprehensive advice, recommendations, or support to patients. Office staff is rude and does not follow up with pharmacy to discontinue medications. Also, shames patient in their healthcare struggles.

To make an appointment it was a one to two month wait for an opening, then after finally getting an appointment, I get there, and wait for an hour and a half without seeing the Dr. at which point I need to leave for work. On the way out I tell the receptionist, and no apology given, just “when do you want to reschedule?” That was the last straw
