Dr. Scott Cannon, MD

Stay clear from Dr. Cannon if you value your health & safety. Particularly if you’re a woman. Despite having multiple well documented illnesses Dr. Cannon always wanted to blame every symptom I had on “anxiety” so much so that when I broke my hip in JANUARY he made me wait until March to get the x-ray that diagnosed it. All the while I was begging for help. He said my hip swelling up, excruciating pain, inability to walk were all caused by anxiety. Only to find out that my hip was broken. At the same time Dr. Cannon prescribed me medication for my migraines that also happens to be a laxative. I became incontinent for NINE WEEKS. I lost 20lbs, was sent to the ER after collapsing at my cardiologist apt. My cardiologist told Dr. Cannon I needed an urgent referral to a GI. He refused. He said all of this was my “anxiety” at play. Even though I repeatedly told him anxiety has never caused these types of symptoms for me. I eventually got a referral from a supervisor and a GI told me my symptoms were being cause by the laxative Dr. Cannon had me on & never told me it was a laxative. When the mask mandate in health facilities fell I attempted to put in an ADA request but was blocked multiple times by his office. I had to involve the patient resource center. Eventually my request was denied because Dr. Cannon admitted he was not reading any of the notes/diagnoses sent to him by the specialists he referred me to that would’ve substantiated my ADA request. Dr. Cannon also makes a habit of discussing confidential matters in group chats! (Something I was able to view thanks for Epic/MyChart). This has worsened the care I receive from numerous other providers in the same office. Now in the ultimate move of retaliation Dr. Cannon has fired me as his patient for reporting his negligence to the Patient Resource Center. He’s abandoned me, a very sick patient, without care because I advocated for better care. Stay very far away if you value your health & safety.

He is a doctor who speculates, never has a proper action plan, has zero talent and simply exists. For sure he doesn't care about the impact he could have on his patients. During my recent visit my wife who is not a doctor knew more than him. Before the appointment I told her we will be seeing a very incompetent guy and we even knew what our action plan would be because he simply wasn't serious or had a clue. The medical board should look into this guy with a fine tooth comb and take this seriously because he ruins patient care and runs it into the ground which does not surprise me. Patients should demand and hold these doctors to a higher standard and that's the only way to achieve world class standards. I would encourage other patients to come forward. I obviously cannot share personal details but please come forward about this guy and let's look out for other patients. He has demonstrated a pattern of incompetence and it needs to stop. Good luck!

I love Dr. Cannon. He has been my PCP for about 15 years maybe longer. He gets back to me quickly in the messages I send him, he usually has appointments available, I trust him, he explains things to me. I have a rare lung condition he even read up on it and when my pulmonologist didn’t have the time or day to have a conference call with a Boston hospital for a rare lung surgery Dr Cannon stepped up and on his lunch break too. I couldn’t thank him enough. He is caring, compassionate, easy to talk to, listens, doesn’t rush my appointments. Fights for me when I don’t feel like fighting I feel. His staff is wonderful. Dr. Cannon and his team take the time to get to know you. Your not just the next pt you are the patient when you are in that exam room. I can’t recommend Dr. cannon enough he’s been really great.

Dr. Cannon has been my primary care physician for 19 years. He is outstanding.

Ive been a patient of Dr Cannon for almost a decade. Used to be great. Personable, attentive, especially respectful of my input given that I have chronic issues resulting in pain requiring opiods. Yet recently he maneuvered to remove me from my pills that I've taken for 30 YEARS! In arguing with him he DROPPED ME. I have no meds now & am in SO MUCH PAIN. He clearly has been swayed due to the current crisis. More fearful of the DEA than treating me. I would HIGHLY DISCOURAGE U from seeing him.

Absolutely the worst most uneducated Md I have ever seen. Do not waste your time, this guy can only order blood tests, push vaccines and refer you to specialists, other than that he has no idea what he is doing. Thankful for other good doctor's who caught a severe illness that I had that Cannon had no idea how to diagnose. He's an egomaniac who has no reason to be, he's just a UC Davis grad, where the worst Md's are churned out. Skip this Md.

He used to be great, Now just another overworked Dr. who is sensitive to any questioning and more interested in the bottom line than patient needs.
