-Medical Protocol: I had 3 biopsies and they do not freeze/numb the area before they inserted the Novocain needle. This caused extreme pain during the injection. My previous Dermatologist always froze/numbed the area prior to inserting Novocain needle. -You will probably see the PA. Dr. Beals only has part time office hours.-PA set up a Dr Beals follow-up appointment. During the appointment he shows up and stands in the doorway. No lab coat and not dressed in expected casual business attire. He was loud and argumentative. It was obvious he had not reviewed my chart. I finally asked him to look at two of my biopsies that had left scars. He basically shrugged it as it is what it is. I have had at least 2 biopsies at Coastal Skin Surgery and Dermatology and they never left a scar. Dr Beals was very unprofessional. - Another observation during my office appointments is the office staff does not appear very happy. Not a lot of smiles.

Thorough skin review
I went to Dr. Beals for a spot on my ear that bled on my pillow at night. He examined the spot, as well as sites of previous skin cancers. He identified several other spots on my scalp as well as a suspicious spot in the corner of my eye. He did a scrape biopsy on my scalp and set me up with appointments to remove the other suspicious spots. I have been going to Dr. Beals for several years and trust him and his staff thoroughly for my skin care.

They were very accommodating changing appointment time due to conflict with another doctor appointment. The entire experience was above my expectations, zero wait time, prompt diagnosis with immediate corrective treatment, plus thorough explanation by the staff and a personal visit by Dr. Beals.

Poor service!! Call me 3 times to make sure I was coming to appr!! When I arrived they ask for co pay immediately!! Which is ok!! Seen PA!! Said I needed a prescription!! They never sent it in and never called to check on me as a patient!! Only interested in getting money and not patient welfare and being!!

Coming to this office was a great experience! Dr Beals and his staff couldn’t be more friendly. I felt comfortable and at ease discussing my medical issues. I felt good leaving knowing that I would be well taken care of. I would definitely return to this clinic and recommend my friends.

My 13 year old daughter has a suspicious mole on her back. Dr. Beals and staff agreed. Took a biopsy and the mole came back pre-cancerous. After discussing our family history of melanoma we agreed to monitor more moles. Love all the providers and staff. Very friendly and caring.

Suspicious lesion on the side of my nose, led Dr. Jones to schedule a biopsy for me with Dr. Beals who did an excellent job in "punching" my nose. Couple of stitches and a couple of weeks later, I was as good as new. Wonderful care.

I am the one that encouraged my best friend to see this Dr when she could not get into her own. For a year she was misdiagnosed with shingles, bites, and ECT. This Dr came in and accused my friend who was covered from head to ankles in sores that she was a PICKER. Told her to admit it. What a jerk! Anyways she almost died in December because of UNDIAGNOSED form of staph. She also had a history of basal cell carcinoma. He dismissed her like trash. Her staph attacked her heart and lungs. A JERK!

NEVER switch to this doctor. Before he ever saw her my mother had to pay $191 up front. Some bull story about medicare and Aetna not paying anyhow. When we went for a second visit to biopsy a couple of sites they wanted another 185. When she refused to pay it they came down to $50 something dollars. When the biopsy results came back there was another excision to be made, but Mother wanted nothing else to be done by this doctor. She could only imagine how much a surgery would cost

I had a sore on my leg that that Dr. Beals decided to watch for two months. At my insistence, a biopsy disclosed a basil cell carcinoma. The cancer had grown to such size that after excision, he referred me to a plastic surgeon for treatment . Disgusted, I moved my records to Coastal Dermatology .Yesterday, Dr. Adams of Coastal removed a basil cell cancer from my face The cancer was under scar tissue of a previous surgery performed by Dr. Beals to remove a basil cell carcinoma.
