I have seen several psychiatrists over the years. I had multiple hospitalizations yearly.I have been seen dr Kumar and his PA for almost 7 months.I got stabilized in 1 month .this is the best I ever felt in the last 11 years. He and his staff are always very kind

I have been coming for a few months ago, and Dr. Kumar and his team are two thumbs up. If something is going wrong, they are super accommodating and able to get you in quickly. His PA Julia is also very awesome. They listen to me and validate me, which means a LOT. I never feel nervous in their presence either, like I have with psychiatrists in the past. I can tell they want what's best for me, they are super understanding if something doesn't work and they will work with you to make it right and get you on that right combo of meds. They will also tell you when things interact like with any other meds you take, and will work around that too, which is always a plus. I recommend them whenever someone asks, and I always have great experiences.

Our family has been working with Dr. Kumar and his staff for over a year now. Our experience has always been that positive; during visits we are treated with respect, listened to, engaged with, and given all of our options before deciding on treatment. More important for me is that everyone in his care is stable, feeling good without any emotional numbness, and are able to face daily life without the weight of serious psychological symptoms.

I have been seeing Dr. Kumar for 5 years. He did a very thorough first visit and got me on meds that have really worked for me. He asked about things that we had talked about in previous visits. So I know he reviewed my chart before our visits. I have been stable on the same dosages of medications for years. He is a great doctor.

I am going to Tennessee Valley Life center for past 10 years. I have tried many Psychiatrist and many anti- psych medicines . But after seeing Dr.kumar, his medication management saved my life . Many patients who come here have similar stories and are satisfied by the service they get here. I never had problem in getting emergency appointment. Staff also have very pleasing manners

Worst "Dr " ever. Does not seem to care or understand diagnosis he gives out. How do you diagnose one in the span of 5 or 10 minutes? My husband has some anxiety and he gave him meds that made him sleep 10-12 hours a day. Then wr found out one of the meds he gave wasn't even approved by the FDA for his age. If your thinking of going to this guy, please check him out thougherly.

Is very intimidating and intolerant if the patient has problems understanding what is expected and medication protocols. Psychiatric patients don't always "have it together" and very often require patience and calm to reduce confusion and fear.

Seems more interested in running a business than helping patients. Sees one patient about every ten minutes, then onto the next one. Out of the blue, he decided he would only treat my son; not both of us. To inform me of this, he had a staff member call me to come pick up a written notification that he was "firing" me as his patient. He would not see me until I found another specialist like him, and I need ongoing treatment requiring ongoing medication. Too bad for me, I guess.
