Dismissive. Rude when alone with her. Not very kin
I had several appointments with Dr Kalya over 2 years. When I had a severe reaction to a medication she prescribed me she said there was nothing she could do for me. She misdiagnosed my disease. She said I had PSA and I do not have Psoriasis. She did no tests and made the diagnosis which was just a guess on my first appointment. It ended up being RS3PE after I saw a new Rheumatologist. I experienced 2 years of unnecessary pain and agony with Dr Kalya.

I have been seeing Dr. Savitha Kalya for about 18 months. She has my vote for Rheumatologist of the Year! She not only correctly diagnosed my specific problem but prescribed a wonder drug which helped 100%. Dr. Kalya always explains medical things in a way the layperson can easily understand. She has given special attention to me and treats the patient as a whole. Dr. Kalya is never in a rush to see the next patient but manages to stay on a schedule which has me waiting less than five minutes. I don't know what I would have done without her professional help!

I've been seeing Dr. Kalya for over 10 years now and she has been absolutely amazing at helping me find a diagnosis as well as finding treatments for my Rheumatoid arthritis. I've been through so much in the years prior to finding her and thankfully she helped to diagnose and figure what was going on with my body. I'm very sad to hear that she's leaving her practice and I'm gonna have to start over with another doctor. She has always listened to my concerns about my symptoms and side effects I may be facing with any new and all medications. She really is an amazing doctor and she goes above and beyond for her patients!!! So upset to see her go!!!!

I'm very surprised by the bad reviews. I have been seeing her for over 8 years and she has been wonderful. She can be quick but for me nothing has changed and meds are working great so there is no need to take any more of my time. I referred me mother to her and she has had very positive experiences as well.

She has closed the office near me and has not been able to help. My latest lab results showed the inflammation flare I am having but she refused to do anything. She has no idea what I am taking and when I tell her she tells me to get off of it but offers no alternatives. Waste of time.

She takes patient time to get a computer lesson. She also gave up on me and told me I needed to see a pain doctor and go back on opioids. I will find someone else!

If I could leave a 0, I would. I have to drive 4 hours for these appointments, and like some others, I requested some information on the options, and what I will be facing with RA. Her response, "I know all of this, and it is too hard to tell you." As she is saying this, she is carrying her device in her hands, and leaving my patient room. I left in tears, and found another doctor.

This Dr a ZERO COMPASSION. PLEASE DON'T EVER SEE HER FOR TREATMENT. She put me on Methotrexate and it ruined my life, I quit taking after 4 doses. She said it would help my pain and it did, I WAS TO SICK THE PAIN WAS THE LEAST OF MY PROBLEM. I told her what OTC meds I took and she chuckled and said I was ruining my liver. But refused any other meds options.

really disappointed today she spent less than 2 minutes with me she did all the talking I got to say okay and she does not pay attention because this medicine she prescribed me one time I haven't been able to take since then because of something else I needed to get from an eye doctor and it should be in my chart that should show I haven't had it. how can I trust a doctor that doesn't look at the chart.

I have had 5 doctors of Rheumatology in 13 years, because either they moved or I did. Dr Kalya is tops, she is up to date on the latest procedures. Keeps me will informed of tests, willing to adjust meds. Its a one stop office, blood tests, infusions, etc.

She will great you with a smile. She will appear to be understanding and really ONLY looks at labs. If you do not meet the strict lab criteria for a diagnosis for which she can bill for injections and pricey infusions for RA - you are nothing to her. Ans if you have pain and your labs do not confirm her ideas, you get told to go a "pill mill" for further treatment. If you have RA and I mean only RA - she will help. But otherwise plan to be marginalized, a lab and expect her toot want to help.
