Best Doctor Ever
Been going to Dr Pathak about 18 years with Afib issues. Love the staff and Dr Pathak cares and shows it. Easy to talk to and takes time to address your concerns and explains things an a way you can understand by using examples, etc.

I just left my appointment with Dr. Pathak. I was REALLY nervous about the appointment due to the other review on here (being that I too am a chronic patient, etc). I had the absolute opposite experience. The office was clean, the staff was wonderful and Dr. Pathak was super friendly and sympathetic to my situation. I just went to the VCU ER three days ago and decided to keep this appt for a 2nd opinion. One thing I really like was that he listened. He didn't rush me and really spent time discussing my issues and what we should do moving forward. He also took the time to review all my test from the ER visit. I'm a complicated patient with a lot going on so I appreciated his knowledge and personality more than he realized. Especially since I had just seen a Hematologist who I had a bad experience with. My husband has heart related problems so I will definitely be setting him up with an appt to see Dr. Pathak as well. :)

Extremely Chauvinistic
During my first appointment with Dr. Pathak, he was very dismissive of my concerns and spent half of the appointment looking at my husband instead of me. I have a medical binder thats organized and I went to pull out my medication list and asked him if he could review my medications real quick for any possible cardiac issues, he physically put his hand up and told me to talk to the doctors who prescribed them. I mentioned a concern about my HRV, heart rate variability, being chronically low and he actually laughed at me, looked at my husband and asked me what that was. His after visit notes weren’t even accurate. He acknowledged swelling in my knee and lower leg, but in his notes, he said no swelling. I had multiple printed out ECGs from my Apple Watch where you can clearly see an irregular heart beat and he told me that those were irreverent because the 30 second ecg they did when the nurse was doing the intake didn’t show anything. I’m not seeing him again, and nobody else should.
