Probably a wonderful surgeon
Dr. Edwards ordered an X-Ray and MRI on my knee. UCSF was scheduling MRIs months out so I went to external provider. Despite trying for months, UCSF was never able to view my MRI images (even though I could), so Dr. Edwards just read the radiologist report - she said she knew them and trusted them (that ended up being incorrect). She recommended an arthroscope because of a possible ACL tear (according to report), which after deliberation I went ahead with because Dr. said was best option due to my knee instability. I had the surgery, she found nothing was wrong with it. Had first follow-up, she confused me for another patient and said we fixed your meniscus (I had a major panic). Finally I found someone competent at UCSF who could download the MRI images. Dr. Edwards looked at them and just said 'sorry, this sometimes happens, MRIs aren't 100% accurate.' My knee instability was due to significant quad weakness she didn't even mention. This whole UCSF fiasco set me back a year.

I had a bad tear of my rotator cuff and labrum, but since I was an high-level athlete I did not want surgery. She meticulously reviewed the MRI with me and went over the surgical plan, risks and benefits, and post-operative recovery protocol. At six months post-op I was already in the gym again and my shoulder felt brand new. Her fantastic bedside manner with her wealth of knowledge makes her an incredible surgeon. I would 100% recommend her to any needing shoulder surgery.
