Dr. Sapna Purawat, MD

I’ve been seeing Dr Purawat for a couple of years after my previous psychiatrist retired. I feel very fortunate to find another psychiatrist who cares about me. Ow that she has gone independent I hope she and her colleagues find lots of success.

Dr. Purawat is one of the kindest most knowledgeable psychiatrists you can find. She listens, she validates, and best of all she knows how to proceed with an appropriate and accurate treatment plan. I speak from experience when I say how difficult it is to find great doctors, and I have been extremely fortunate to have been able to be a patient of hers.

Dr. Purawat listened and helped me with my problems. She continues to be a good listener, and very caring physician who is knowledgeable with current treatments. I have really benefited from her care and highly recommend her.

Dr.Purawat has been managing my anxiety/adhd with care and diligence. Not only is she kind but she is also very knowledgable and always willing to educate her patients. Her calm demeanor always helps with my nervousness around appointments. She’s non judgmental but honest and one of my favorite psych providers.

I’m 42 yrs old and since I can remember have dealt with different issues with anxiety and obsessive thoughts, had lost all hope, spent sleepless nights and hitting rock bottom. After a couple visits she diagnosed me, and throughout the months continued to work towards making sure I was good. I have now seen her for 3 years and have since changed my life for the best! I have been seeing Dr. Purawat for a few years now and possibly like you I was reluctant to get started or admit I needed some help at first. I was maxed out just being a mildly functional adult. After the first appointment within a week or two my life changed drastically for the better. I went undiagnosed my entire life and to feel heard and understood really put me at ease. She gives you time to speak and process. She has great intuition with just simple information given, and comes up with a great plan. You'd never know how busy she was because its always a quality meeting. I've heard from friends and colleagues about poor experiences they have with psychology and am always so thankful for Dr. Purawat. I feel very fortunate and I will always have gratitude for the quality of life I've achieved with her help.

Dr Purawat is the best Psychiatrist that I have encountered in the 30+ years of dealing with depression. She is very approachable and has great listening skills. She is personable and very confident and clear in her recommendations. I have complete trust in her, the office staff is very competent and meets your needs in a timely manor.

I've been seeing Dr. Purawat for over three years, and every appointment with her is FAR from unpleasant! She understands, and is helpful when looking for resolutions to issues, rather than just trying to find a quick solution to momentarily fix an issue. She isn't judgmental and makes sure to make an effort to make the patient feel comfortable. Most importantly, she doesn't just listen, she actually hears what I have to say as the patient and takes it into consideration!

Dr. Purawat has provided excellent care as my psychiatrist for almost one year. Focusing primarily on medication management, she has helped me reduce the number of medications and corresponding side effects while improving my quality of life. She also takes time at every visit to review my life circumstances and reinforce the positive things while also carefully listening to those things that may be challenging. Most importantly, I leave my appointments feeling better and stronger--more like I have a healthcare partner rather then a MD just writing scripts.
